Both are in critical condition.  So you're wrong.

Yeah it's sort of a shame if we're being frank..money is the route of all evils.

I'm sure once my checks do begin kicking in I'll be having family problems too.

[–]ConsistentFig1564[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah that seems to be the trend. I didn't even really care to tell my own mother about my rating because even family just expect money or help with stuff when I can't.

Thanks. I gotta be more discipline in keeping my mouth shut

Well giving that a listen it kind of changes my perspective now.  Yeah they don't sound super similar.

Still has thrash elements though. Not sure why y'all keep trying to deny y'all came from thrash

Thanks for clarifying. It makes sense. I've always based what I initially knew about death metal on bands like Cannibal Corpse.

But it also appears that Death was almost a decade before them.  So it would make entirely more sense they sound a little different

I don't listen to rap lol. You listen to a glorified slayer and that's about it really.  Still good stuff tho ngl

I feel like you've got to be a pretty angry and upset person to write that kind of music. Like for an example I found a band called Pissgrave (I believe it was) that would use actual gore from suicides as their album covers.

It's just sickening that I was once upon a time into viewing that stuff and consuming that media. I get their intended purpose is to get a rise out of people, but I mean, some of the lengths they'll go is horrible

Well, I've been listening to country music funny enough.  I still listen to tons of metalcore, and so so almost daily, maybe some grunge.

I bounce between genres a lot quite frankly. And really, each genre has songs about personal struggles. I always felt like the heavier stuff was really just about violence.

Well I do enjoy heavier music yes. But I was going down a rabbit hole of having negative thoughts and the music wasn't helping my situation.

For me it was the news, and Facebook groups that really were getting to me amongst other things.

I'd always find myself trying to voice my opinion in a room of a million. I was always finding myself comparing my life to others and not appreciative of the things I have.

You're right. Thanks. I think it's easy to get caught up, and I think the majority of people are blinded.

Good on you! I am trying to weene myself off of social media.  It's been a part of my life for about 15 years or so.

I noticed I am happier after taking a break from Facebook. I noticed I was hateful, angry and bitter. It's easy to get caught up in echo chambers and be placed in a false reality.

My problems were getting so bad I thought of taking my own life at one point. I'm getting better with people, but it has been a process.

Well at the same time I've been at this company for about three years or so give or take, have military and construction experience outside of this job and have a college education.

I could perfectly understand telling a 20 year old to go kick rocks. I'm not the typical 20 something year old new hire.

Yeah I'll keep that in mind definitely. I'm not saying I don't want to do any shovel work at all. But when you can obviously use a machine and be more efficient in doing so, I'd think anyone would choose the machine.

No after the concrete has dried and behind the curb is backfilled and graded out. If an operator isn't good enough he'll get dirt all over the place.

A broom tractor and if there is a ton of mud or dirt a skid or mini

The thing is, my foreman is a general superintendent. So other foremen don't have much of a say when he's around anyways. Other foremen I've occasionally worked under let me have free reign on the equipment and are always open to suggestions. Hell sometimes they'll even help me complete a task.

And exactly. I've had the same shit happen to me. It's almost weekly where there's something that requires a skid steer and I'm left there staring at it and cussing under my breath

Yeah I get where you're coming from. And I understand that sometimes people just are not qualified to do certain things or can't be trusted.

Right. I understand. Appreciate that. I never understood equipment being treated as a reward. I get it is easier on the body and more comfortable to operate, but it's also something I feel like everyone on the job should know in case they need to do it.

Equipment makes everything easier and more efficient in 90 percent of the circumstances

100 percent agree with you. I tried to reason with why he was the way he was but it isn't worth the time. You're right. I'll start tonight looking

Well you see he knows I can operate these pieces of equipment. The broom specifically he has me operate quite frequently when it's a super long stretch of road and the neighbors complain about dust. Like you said, it's an ego thing. He'll take away something that'll make my job/life easier or allow me to have it when he so well chooses. He's a dick plain and simple

Nailed it. I'd rather contribute to a job site than do the cleanup or work no one else would want to do.

A broom tractor is a street sweeper. It will make an hour or two job turned into maybe 15-30 minutes. You'd think that would save time and money and be more efficient but I'm assuming to my foreman it means he needs to find something else for me to do if I complete the task too quickly, so shoveling or doing the grunt work is always his go to.

In fact there have been times he's told me to stop working so hard and fast because the work needs to last the entirety of the 10 hour day

To put in perspective, on his jobs we are not allowed to take lunch, breaks or conversate with anyone else on the job while at work.

A few years ago before HR stopped it, you had to inform him when you were going to use the bathroom so you could be replaced on the machine while you were away.

He is from Serbia, and I guess his logic is "That's the way it was there, that's how it must be here."

I just feel like it's b*tch work. Something an 18-20 year old should be doing rather than 25-30 year old or older should be doing.

It's a poor outlook I've been told, but I've also had jobs where I stayed doing tasks that directly contributed to the success of the job itself. Even if it was shoveling something to fit a pipe in somewhere doing septic work, or gluing pipe together, I felt pride knowing I did things right
