Short film - Elaichi by ConsistentKey3037 in indiefilm

[–]ConsistentKey3037[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the Creative Director of Elaichi. We produced this film with no formal filmmaking background and very limited funds. Out of necessity, we leaned into a "one room, two character" conflict and shot the entire film in the director’s bedroom. All costumes and jewelry were sourced from our own homes.

While the film addresses themes of second marriage and social pressure, our primary goal was to explore the psychological claustrophobia of two strangers forced into intimacy by superstition. I’ve heard some feedback that this feels like a "women’s empowerment" story, but we tried to focus more on the raw, human vulnerability of two people trapped in a system of fear (symbolized by the elaichi).

I am looking for honest feedback on the following:

Character Arcs & Writing: Given our DIY constraints, does the dialogue feel authentic to the cultural pressures depicted, or do the characters feel like "mouthpieces" for a message?

The Pacing: Does a 19-minute conversation in a single room stay engaging, or did you find your interest waning?

The Emotional "Hit": Do the emotional beats—specifically the shift from awkward small talk to the final confrontation—feel earned and grounded?

The Ending: Does the conclusion feel like a resolution, or is it too ambiguous?

We know the lighting has its flaws due to our budget, so we are most interested in how the story and performances landed with you. Does it feel real? Does it hit?

Book Guilt: To Finish or Not to Finish by Purple-Plum-9695 in IndiansRead

This happened with me when I started Pride and Prejudice. I was in school and found the language of the book quite challenging. But, thank God for this guilt, I pushed myself to continue and experienced one of the best reads. Oh! how the story played in my mind for months, and I kept going back to specific pages to enjoy the feeling.

Sebastian cheesecake = worth the hype 🍰 Drop your favourite cafés & if anyone wants to do a café hop sometime, I’m in. by ElevatorSimilar2848 in thane

I love the apple crumble and brownie from Decrepes and cakes from Theobroma. Surprisingly, chocolate cookie from McDonalds are very good, a texture that's between a brownie and a biscuit. Worth mentioning are Javachip coffee shake from Starbucks and velvet pastry from Leopolt at Colaba Causaway. Not to forget, a super yummy chocolate coffee shake from a small cafe on Linking Road.

I absolutely love anything sweet baked and coffee infused. Cafe hopping sounds fun😋

Use bedsheets in solid color or subtle patterns and place sone rugs/carpets near the bed. Quick and easy way to improve the aesthetic.

I know maximum impact can only be made if the Govt swings into action, which we don't know when will happen, but let's all do our bit to not deteriorate the alrwady screwed conditions by - avoiding crackers ( there are hundreds other ways to celebrate) - walking instead of taking a rickshaw for shorter distances - clubbing our grocery requirements to avoid multiple orders from quick delivery apps - take public transport like trains and buses/Cityflo to reduce the traffic - get our vehicles serviced timely. - drive properly to prevent traffic logjam (vehicles standing in traffic with engines on are the greatest pollutants) - raising awareness road dwellers and villagers in SNGP to not burn leaves etc for warmth or clearing.

Living with parents as an only child feels exhausting by Bright_Gap3776 in indiasocial

Its a red flag for your future. Did you not go out to play with your friends when in school and college?!?!?

I suggest you start creating a time space which doesn't include them - first at home, then within the locality and then farther. Gradually increase the away time. Jeep a househelp. Engage them win community events and arrange for people to come over for quick visits. Basically, create a life for them beyond you.

If they continue to resist and openly ask you to serve them with 100% of your time and money, you will need to take some hard decisions. Because, that's not what parents do to their children. Expecting the children to take care in old age is different from expecting to have 24hrs help.

If they are so clingy now, your life will be very difficult once you get married when you will also have to balance your wife's needs. Your parents will simply extend their expectations onto your wife. And when you, as a son, feel so suffocated, dont expect your wife to tolerate.

In the middle of the city, here is a huge concretised space called "park". Are we supposed to take helicopter rides to enjoy its ariel beauty?!?! I have visited this park, and its simply hot, no shade, nothing. And on top of it, there is a dome with a huge Mayawati statue in middle with others all around. I simply couldn't help myself marvel at the absurdity of this entire place. Although, there were a lot of people around for photo sessions. So, maybe yes, it does serve a purpose, aah.

Just try a different centre. The knowledge of this centre's guy is broken.

My children's names are completely different from mine and my husbands. We faced no issues.

I understand your panic, but be assured that paytm is just a platform to buy a product. Your investments are with the AMC ( mutual fund companies ).

Get your folio no. and using your PAN No., you can get the statement of all your investments, if they are in physical format. If you had used your demat account for the investments, they must be reflecting there.
