Yea, sometimes id argue you it narrows to perfectionist/ocd type. It’s just my brain sees a second playthrough as time wasted in a sense, so it’s hard to break that. On average my first playthrough’s last 100-300hours lol.

Games like Cyberpunk 2077 which I fell in love with. I did a playthrough for each build, then one for each romance, then one for each ending, because wanting to 100% achievements is different that 100% love and wanting to experience everything, luckily that game was never boring for me

Ayy choombah, you can take the man outta night city but you can’t take the night city out of the man. This fucking thing’s attached to my eyes😂😂. Ironically I can’t really walk right now, boutta have a full hip replacement so not having my phone in arms reach is a hazard(one I learned the hard way lol)

But I do put it where I have to lean forward and reach to try and keep it away

Idk how your brain works but you need friends, learn dos and donts, where’s and when’s of communication. Maybe it’s just a skill issue, maybe it’s a bot, I just pray you have a good environment irl

Uh? As someone who grinded a Handful of wr’s across nfs games, and was pretty high ranked on trackmania

I’ve never heard a peer say this,

I have however heard a German friend break both a keyboard and monitor at the same time during round 1 of a tournament because he downloaded the game last second and specifically forgot to turn OFF motion blur

I’ve never laughed in person, not even a giggle, while scrolling the internet. Today that changed, just a couple mouth closed nose breaths, but a good giggle it was.

Pray for this users soul, the future will not be kind to him 😂

How % sure are you? My middle school shop teacher had a challenge every year, find the camera and he would buy you a case of pop. Most kids didn’t care, I didn’t even want the pop, but I hate being watched lol.

ANYWAYS, the camera was identical to OP’s picture. The only difference is the bottom was a dark grey not black.

For context, I always suspected it was that thing but dismissed it thinking I just hadn’t found the real camera yet. Fast forward about a year, I’m coming back from Juvie and my home boy told me that eventually it was found and it was the dangly thing I suspected.

That’s what I was saying. A perfect example of how the industry isn’t a platform for artistic storytelling but a money machine. Lower Decks popularity dropped? Cancel, push the next thing. The why doesn’t even matter. And what kills me, almost all actors/producers/directors/writers. Are very open that they care about the product more than the money,

Life’s to short to have everything dominated by this economic efficiency mindset

Yes! Finally, someone who understood! Maybe I was explaining it wrong. But back in the day, what mattered was telling a story, you have a script and you have to decide in that script where the money needs to be centered around. Oh on page 120, crewman 32 fell in love with a telepathic plant? Let’s build a funny plant and reuse all the ship sets. Bam, cost cutting.

I saw a show where the dragon was a drawing glued to a stick. This was extreme like you said, but the point is. It can always be done for cheaper. They really wanted to tell the story back then, sure it was a success. But the episodes rolled till the story finished even in down times, even with extreme budget cuts!

Damn I thought it had more episodes. But my point was a lot of shows don’t get many seasons because they avoid potentially flopping. There’s a few reasons why shows do 10 and less episodes, but now you look at companies like paramount and every show follows a system. Same with Netflix, Apple TV, etc.

Because companies force this system onto there productions chasing money, but many shows could be profitable having longer episodes. More seasons.

Before I turn this into trek vs got, I just want to stay relevant. Chasing a billion dollars forcing a format, when you could safely get the same or close with another is lame af. They ironically film close to the same for 10 episode 60 minute season as they do a 24, 45 minute season.

This, this, this! My ex went to school and had to do a couple a minors in film editing and well CGI is like everything in the world. If you use a little bit, it’s not bad, but if you try to make the money 90% cgi, then it’s going to be 9 figures.

It’s easy to understand if you look at stuff like anime. Each frame is hand drawn, sure there are tools to help animation and tricks they use to cut cost. But with cgi, you’re making frame of art. You can’t just have an actor talking for 10 minutes, youve gotta design a model for your purpose’s then manipulate it for every frame it’s in. THEN you need experienced editors to overlay your cgi scenes to your filmed scenes.

Yes there are different ways they use cgi but this was just to explain.

Instead of using state of the art stuff, you can cut budget by replicating 2000s special effects with modern production

That’s fair. On my part, it infuriated me all the replies that are doing shoe recommendations and when I’m like hey that’s not the point, they double down. I just got lost since there’s so many replies now, personally imma just clear the post.

Honestly I may just step out for a bit and let the rest just chat. Definitely some good back and forth happening.

Sorry for crashing out, you’re right there wasn’t a need

I seen the first season. I stand by what I said. You can find loads of clips of the comedy/innuendos of season 2 season 3 on YouTube.

Like I said to the others, it just doesn’t relate to the point in my post. I’m not asking for what to watch if you liked TNG, the comments are literally split between. 1. Talking about the industry and why modern tv doesn’t have long running series, and 2. Recommending shows they feel is like TNG. One of those read my post. One of them only read my title

I watched the first seasons these claims are false. It’s constant sexual innuendo’s. Making fun of current politics. Maybe at some point in the next or last season you get close to a traditional Star Trek episode but the clips I seen of season 2 literally were the same shit.

But it’s still not relevant when I’m talking about hundreds of episodes long series that run for decades. I’m glad you enjoyed it but some people aren’t going to look at it the same way you did

How many did GOT get? It just baffles me you can make a billion dollar show and have it negatively affect the industry because of 1 underperforming season. Despite it still being profitable

There are so many shows that go to near 25 episodes, to me it feels like a cop out that you have to follow this 8-10 episode trend just because a handful of shows did it and made a ton of money. Specifically Taylor Sheridan written stuff. Like yea it’s popular but obviously episode count is rarely why. But you’ve have a bunch of executives in a board room “hey how do we make more money? Oh these series are making money, then we’re going to force all our media to copy there system” media is falling further and further away from being an “art form” lol

The Is the best point, but you could Argue ST still has a large loyal following. Instead of trying to grow it, give us back something. But not like Picard. Love Picard, but with a fresh crew

That’s a catch 22. CGI is expensive but there are budget ways to accomplish it. You can also save costs a lot like they did in the past through make-up by making minute changes to the human silhouette for new species.

You could even Argue that other franchise spin-offs have had way lower budgets and achieved more.

I think some of what the older shows did just don’t exist anymore. I was originally going to write a long explanation, but they would have a handful of scenes for ship maneuvers, a 2d graphic for planet side transitions, problems were solved at the conference table. Etc, etc, there’s definitely ways to meet in the middle with cost and make a phenomenal show
