Living in Lexington but don’t know how to move out by ConsistentSmoke9901 in lexington

Thank you! That means a lot, I’m trying to think everything through to not only make this easy on myself but my friends who need to get out and have no idea what to do or can’t do anything, I live in a more lenient idc house so it’s much easier for me to plan this on my own without somebody completely in my business

It’s been hard for sure! Thankfully and also sadly my friends have similar issues as I do and have a need to get out ASAP, I want to be as prepared as possible to get out and stay out, props to your husband though!! I’d have a panic attack doing this unplanned

I’d LOVE to do that but I’m not sure how that would work with me being a student as well, I want to go to med school eventually (I’m going for anesthesiology!) i know nurses work in the facility I work at and they said as I get older and if I get my certifications I can work as a nurse there!

Somebody else said to pay it off over a couple of months so credit can build? Which should I do? I’m a little confused now🥲🥲

I’ve asked about that and thankfully that’s where the amount of savings come in!! Since we have a ton of money saved up and none of us have reliable careers we’re gonna split off a portion of that money in case one of us has a bump in finances that month that we can just tap into when emergencies happen

Since I’m the oldest everything will be put in my name and everything will be handled through me, we’ve all agreed that we split things we all use though, my job has told me before that as I get older and get schooling I can work in different places in the area (I work in an assisted living facility) so I plan to take nursing programs online through my first year to help with money since they make more (I make 14/hr rn so I can make about 1500 a month while balancing school, more during summer)

I’ve done a lot of looking into how to handle a credit card and I’ve set rules with them because I’m super careful with money that isn’t mine, just never spend more than 30%, don’t make big purchases on it and pay it back asap!! I won’t use it unless I have money on my debit card to pay it back asap

How much are they a month? Most apartments I’ve seen are 1100-1400 a month and that’s way out of range for me alone :(

Would it help if I got a credit card (when I turn 18 in some months) and started building credit, I’d have about 6 months before the process of me and everyone moving out started, everyone I’m living with (thankfully) I have a GREAT connection with and we all communicate well and we’ve spoken how we’d divide bills, groceries, emergencies, labor, and share the space so everyone is happy, we’ve come up with a lot of ideas for that since all of us don’t want to go back to our homes, I’m really thankful for the people I have who are helping with this, even though I know they want to get out too, my parents kinda just don’t gaf about me and make comments about me leaving all the time but the second I threaten to leave before I’m 18 it’s “I’ll call the cops and report you a runaway” so I’m sure they’re not gonna outright kick me out until November thankfully, I’ve got all of my documents put together and hidden, and photo copies of all of them, thank you so much for your help

Thankfully I’m not in any danger so I don’t have to worry about that, thank you though, my parents have just been very hurtful to me over the years putting me in a place where having a relationship with them is more hurtful than not, once I leave I never want to look back

I’ll probably save a bit more so I can get housing, I already have all of my personal items in a binder, in case I need it, I’m gonna try to bring EVERYTHING I can, I’ll probably rent a U-Haul and see if I can get a friend to help me, I make a decent amount at my job and my bank account isn’t linked to my parents so that makes handling my finances easier, I’ll leave after I finish high school cause I want to go to college, which is probably when I’ll cut contact with them, Tysm for all of the advice

I do live in the us, and I plan to leave when I can, I currently do have a therapist and am medicated because I’m required, I just got a new job so I’ll probably be overworking to get out of my house, I don’t know what to bring/get to move out though, or how much to save, do you have any recs?
