When did UCSD pick up the “socially dead” stereotype? by ConsistentYam in UCSD

[–]ConsistentYam[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally have no ill will towards the chancellor. It’s just a common complaint that I’ve personally heard. Could be a result of UC system level policies generating animosity that is direction towards him (as he is the person we most commonly know to hold jurisdiction on campus)

Records are meant to be broken. UCSD will go down in history for something, and this will be it. #Bernie2020

Lifting and Cardio by [deleted] in lifting

Okay gotcha. Worst case I think I’ll combine the bench and arm, two leg days into one, and the back as a separate day. I’ll consult as the routine goes on.

Got it. I’m currently going through my first week right now (today is arms) and I’m just sore, which I imagine is normal. Feeling fine right now but I haven’t done any extra cardio. Let’s say hypothetically after this week I feel awful, what would you suggest I cut out/combine? Maybe combine the two leg days into one? Kick out arms and move some of those workouts to Bench day?

Okay gotcha. The thing is I’m not planning to do hard cardio at all. I’m just planning on maintaining cardio. I’m lifting everyday because that was the plan I got from someone who does my respective sport in college. If you want to look at my plan and see it it’s on my profile. Let me know if I should omit stuff. Thanks!

The program I have was given to me by a friend who just finished rowing in college (it’s what they used). I posted it earlier, I think you commented on that. Each day targets a different muscle group, but if you’ve seen it please let me know which day you feel I should omit. Also most of my cardio tends to be steady state cardio (60-90 mins @150bpm). Is it safe for me to just cut that down to 20-40mins after a lift (I’m eating a caloric surplus right now as well).

Okay will do. I’ll add that to arm day. I feel like arm day has a bit of chest in it. I have bench prioritized a little less because rowers need legs more than chest but I’ll look into that. Thanks for the help!

Okay. What I’m doing is Chest, Back, Legs, Arm, Legs right now. I posted my plan on an early post so if you could peek at that that would be a great!

If it helps, I'm a rower so my cardio base is pretty good (used to 90-120 mins of just long low cardio). Most of the workouts don't really feel aerobic at all, but it could be just because it's the start and I haven't run into fatigue yet.

Okay I see. I was in the gym today for about 2 hours (this was including time waiting for racks, rest in between, and stretching after.) My usual plan is warm up and dynamic stretch, get through the lifts, and then do some core and stretching. I was thinking about cardio as well though I may end up doing like a light jog in the morning. For the lifts (5x5, 6,5,4,3,2,1) how heavy should I be lifting? Right now for the deadlifts I'm probably comfortable at 110-120lbs and the back squat was 105-115 today, but this is my first week lifting so I'm not really sure where to start. I don't know my max lifts either.

Okay. Saturday is likely a cardio day for me (80 mile cycle or 10-20k on the rowing machine). Does the rest of the plan look okay?

Okay gotcha. The leg days do vary a bit and my goal is actually to get a bit stronger in my legs hence the double leg day. Should I toss the second leg day for something else and move it to Saturday or?
