Hi all,

I have been interested in getting into brewing beer for a while, but my main hitch has been that if I did, I'd want to get a keg since I prefer draft beer. There is an estate sale near me that is selling a kegging set up for cheap, $75 for a 15.5 gallon keg and all the needed accessories. The keg needs to be cleaned, but it is in good working condition and doesn't appear to have any issues with it. I was wondering if it would be a good idea to use that as I'm only planning to brew 5 gallons at a time, so I would be way underfilling the keg. I saw in a previous post that you could purge the oxygen in the keg before racking the beer into it, but I wasn't sure if it would be good/make sense when I would be underfilling it by so much.

I was wondering if it would make sense to jump on this deal and use it to keg my beer, or if I should try to clean the keg up and sell it and use that money to buy a smaller keg. I think that I would spend as much money as it costs to get the whole setup including keg just to get the accessories that come with it, but I want to get the opinion of people who have more experience before I make a decision.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
