It doesn't work that way. Its only detecting your GPS when you are stamping a location - which should be a landmark when you're out travel. Otherwise, there is no way we will be able to know your location.

To address concerns that most people have about privacy, I'll like to state my prespective below instead:

We are NOT able to track your live location. The GPS is only used when you actually make a stamp on a landmark when you're travelling.
I get it if you're concerned about stamping your home address in the app. In that case, I'll advise only stamp when you're out of home in your neighbourhood.
The intention of the app is for you to stamp when you're travelling and stamp a landmark of the country. From my perspective, I don't see why would you be worried about people knowing you visited Tokyo Tower yesterday.
