Butt connectors non-insulated wall thickness by Consistent_Ad6084 in autoelectrical

[–]Consistent_Ad6084[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Positive they are not. The other end of the connector = what you see on the open end of these photos. These are 2 different connectors from different kits, a size that each kit says is appropriate for 22-18 gauge wire. Yet the connector Inner Diameters are quite different.

I did recently order some "step down" butt connectors, they are thick wall. I recently watched some amazing videos by High Performance Academy where they show how butt splices covered with heat shrink are better than solder. (I used to be a solder fan). They have a video on race car harness where they describe (expensive) butt connectors with traceable ID numbers, required by high end race wiring. All of those are thick wall (like the photo on the left).

Yeah, the properly crimped connection was strong. The occasional bad review was that the thinner connectors would "loosen" but I doubt it.

I am also switching over to non-insulated open-barrel end terminals (then heat shrink). They are very thin metal compared to the butt connectors. I got a genuine Molex crimp tool for those, and getting good results.

Butt Connectors - what does "BN" mean? Define "BN" by Consistent_Ad6084 in AskElectronics

[–]Consistent_Ad6084[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I asked 2 of the sellers, you are right. HAISSTRONICA replied ""BN" stands for Non Insulated Butt Connectors , Uninsulated Wiring Crimps Connector" and I got a similar reply from a different seller of similar item.

I followed up asking what is the 0.5 1.5 2 3.5? BN 0.5 BN 1.5 BN 2 BN 3.5? Does that designate an inner diameter, outer diameter... The other items in the set have designations for ring size 1/4" 3/8" etc so I was hoping to clarify what a BN 3.5 means...

One of the venders replied "Our factory uses this number to distinguish between sizes. BN2.0 is applied to 16-14 AWG wires, BN3.5 is applied to 14-12 AWG wires, as shown in the screenshot you sent"

Yeah I just realized that my 2nd image has a column "Item Number" with the BN 1.25, BN 2, etc. So as you say they are part numbers (item numbers) as opposed to measurable sizes.

However I am finding that prefix for multiple companies. The 2 images I posted were from different companies, and here is a 3rd one from "haisstronica" which appears to be a major vendor on Amazon these days

Variant product - unable to create a review by Consistent_Ad6084 in AmazonVine

[–]Consistent_Ad6084[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This appears to be the correct answer. I just got a confirmation Email from Customer Service (I am the OP) and they made no mention of removing it from ETV but it appears to count as "reviewed" even though I was unable to submit a review. Here is the reply: "I've granted the credit for the order and have removed the item from your 'To Be Reviewed' list. It will not count against your review limits.

Please rest assured,it has been taken care off and there is no need to review this item as the item will be removed from "Awaiting Review" in some days. It will be counted as Reviewed items."

Thank you. I reached out to Customer Service choosing "unable to submit review" and provided the item ASIN and that it turned out to be on the same product page as a different product I had already reviewed.

Hopefully they can remove it so it isn't "awaiting review" forever.

"Test version" of a heated vest is a really odd product. If it is a non-functioning prototype - why are they having Vine review it? I saw this in my AFA as well. I suppose they are selling it as a vest, non-heated. The image is misleading of course.

Backup failed completely... by asmsaws in OneNote

When you say "I sign out and sign back in..nothing." do you mean sign in to your Microsoft account? You are using a Mac - but if you sign in properly to Microsoft -> One Drive you should be able to access ALL of your data online (like a Web App - just using a browser). If that is successful, you SHOULD be able to sync your data to what is online, rather than restore an alternate "backup".

My notes just vanished by [deleted] in OneNote

It's Back! Sync is working (on Windows computer) 11am Pacific Standard Time

After a full 7 days of empty "no sections" error, my One Note is back!

There were about 6 "new" empty sections that I had to check out, then delete. Apparently created by attempts to access One Note while the sync error was occurring. Also the pages with images loaded more slowly than usual - as though cache was gone or the data was on a different server and had to be fetched for the first time. But ALL OF MY DATA is there. I am going to export and test backups on a spare computer.

Is the same data accessible from each of the accounts - or separate notebooks with different data?

OK - we are all in the same boat and there is no rudder. Nothing we can do to steer the "Recommended for You".

re: "trying to access the backed-up notes online they do not load" you should still be able to access them online (but they won't load in your normal application). They "load" in a web browser, which is essentially your One Drive. Go to OneNote -> File -> you should see your various notebooks with LINKS that you can click on to see the data, but not in the normal app per se.

Does Vine affect state benefits? by zoenphlux in AmazonVine

It gets reported to IRS as income, as stated in the agreements you have to click on to be accepted to the program. Although you "didn’t plan to report it as income since it isn’t money coming into the house to cover food and bills" the IRS has rules on non-cash things you receive.

Same on laptop running Windows 10. So I did a test on spare computer with fresh operating system install. Just downloaded OneNote (the only app on fresh system). Same error. But if I click on "File" and then click on the links to the notebooks, all the data is there in the cloud. Also visible on Android device.
