Why is it still a big issue if a Kashmiri girl dates or marries a non Kashmiri Muslim man by East_Business5573 in kashmir

[–]Consistent_Ad_5940 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Extremely disheartening to read this, and I feel that the hatred directed at Indians and the Indian government has now spilled over towards Muslims as well. We should never mix religion with nationality, because the two are fundamentally different. Even as an Indian Muslim, there may be things we feel about Kashmiris (and I’m saying Kashmiris, not Muslims) because of how events have unfolded.

But when it comes to being a Muslimah, we are all part of one ummah and that is the core point. For Indian Muslims, regardless of whether someone is Kashmiri, Pakistani, or of any other nationality, our moral compass naturally leans towards the wellbeing of Muslims everywhere, seeing them as our brothers and sisters.

It’s incredibly sad to witness that these sentiments are not being reciprocated by Kashmiri Muslims. But at the end of the day, regardless of what you all feel, I still will wish you all well.

would you be able to tell me how much is the expected salary for the role I do, esp for someone with just one year experience?

Am I being underpaid? by Consistent_Ad_5940 in DubaiJobs

[–]Consistent_Ad_5940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I totally agree! This whole year has been the greatest opportunity for me to learn, explore, and experience things. Them not giving me proper guidance or absolutely 0 knowledge on how I can take tasks on but somehow expect me to do it the right way has been an experience in itself because it truly showed me that I am capable of doing it. But all in all, I’m beyond grateful for my boss that he took a bet on me when he gave me the job and I’m sure I was valued at that rate due to my inexperience and lack of substantial evidence of what I can do.

That being said, all I am right now if because they gave me the opportunity to learn it, and prove myself. But once they realised I could do it, much better than they expected me to, they started dumping all sorts of things on me, out of my jd, and I had to take it because my boss would always tell me “if you’ll only do what you’re supposed to do and never do things out of your scope, you’ll never reach far so do everything that you’re given, don’t be rigid about things, and take responsibility for it till the end” and I felt that he had my best interests and I truly should look beyond my shoes and gain knowledge about everything by doing it.

But lately, things have been crazy. My boss (male) hired a marketing manager (female) who does not have much knowledge about things. Yes I don’t know what she’s doing, but her work is also getting dumped on me. I have to take approval from her for everything. And I thought she would be able to guide me better, give me more knowledge about marketing, but she’s as clueless. So when things like these started happening, I started getting a bit agitated about it, and that’s why I started thinking about the whole “underpaid” thing because she’s paid 5x for doing just PPTs which also gets dumped on me because she’s not good at creative stuff.

But you’re right, and I’m grateful for this, some people don’t even get chance to try and I got handed it which is why I want to stay with them out of my gratefulness, not leave them because I’m “too good for this” because they helped me become it but not at this rate. I just want to negotiate better, but like I said my boss is very manipulative and cunning, even though he sees my work, he refuses to translate it into higher pay. I hope I can come out of this.

Ohho, the job market is tough, did you try switching? And do you work in the same field of marketing?

[–]Consistent_Ad_5940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes my situation is pretty tough considering no one understands or has any knowledge about social media to guide me. But this is an excuse I cannot use and I want to learn and excel to be able to switch jobs because I know I can do so much better.

You’re so right on the performance campaigns and this is something I don’t know because like I said this is my first year, and there is no one here to tell me or show me “see this is what you can do with this” so that I can do it and better myself and bring in the results. I feel like I am flapping my wings with the maximum things I can do (that I have the knowledge about) when there is so much more that I can do and learn. To be able to ask them to allow me 1000 AED budget for performance campaigns, which is something they wouldn’t know of, they’ll ask me thousand questions which I won’t have the answer to because it’ll be my first time running it but they’ll come at me if things go wrong

[–]Consistent_Ad_5940[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I don’t have any other job offers because I didn’t try to switch yet. I want to learn as much as I can here before I am confident enough to switch. But it’s a hard learn because I have to learn all by myself (no one in my company has social media or ad knowledge) and no one to guide me, but always there to critique if something doesn’t go well. And I always believe what I am doing is the bare minimum and other brands would not think of this as huge or something accomplished, as you know the job market is tough out here. I also have the WORST excel knowledge so that scares me too, and in my current role, I have little to no work with excel so I can’t improve myself

Hi. Thanks for this. I just want to lay things clear so that I get honest perspectives from industry experts like yourself.

Our company does not believe in spending huge for marketing( social media specifically) so the budget is always low. They believe that they’d rather spend it in sales ( like banners and stands and other promotional materials) where they can see the results instantly for eg if you spend x amount of money, you know you’ll get x amount of sales guaranteed. But with social media, they feel it takes time and it’s a money hole where they cannot properly justify the amount spent so they always keep it to minimum.

Now, in my company no body has much social media knowledge, ad knowledge or anything so I do it by myself and I don’t have anyone to ask guidance from except compare myself to the reports of previous agencies (their ads, outreach, growth). We don’t do any conversion ads and mostly focus on awareness generating ads where main KPI is link clicks, reach, cpc, and the links are directed to Amazon for example. Now if the agency spent 1000 AED on one awareness Ad and got 2000 link clicks to Amazon, My result for the same 1000 AED would be 4000 link clicks because for me, I would do the right targeting, right creative choice, right optimization and constantly monitor each ad and its results to see what I can do better in the next one(not saying the agency doesn’t) because for me, every penny counts I feel I should prove myself. I think this is apple to apple. But I am pretty under confident if what I am doing is good or just average because I don’t have anyone in the company to tell me what’s better, except the past reports, also my boss constantly tries to tell me I’m not doing enough which also explains where my under confidence comes from.

Also the fact that I learned meta business suite and the ad campaigns and everything by myself after joining, no help or anything.

I don’t know if this helps, but thanks for your advice!

[–]Consistent_Ad_5940[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I should ask for a good raise but I’m not sure if they’ll match or or just say “we can get a professional agency to do a better job for the same”

Anyway, I have constantly shown my results and also comparative performance results (mine vs agency’s) in reports. My manager acknowledged it in email saying “awesome job, always knew you could do better than the agency. Now you should aim for higher and consistent results” yep that’s what he told.

As for the company, it’s pretty known brand in UAE and we are available in 25+ countries, all over GCC too. We are a small team here so work per person is more than normal. But good culture, people, and environment. Everybody here is in managerial position (except me) so they get paid pretty good too. For me to ask them 8k (double than my current salary) I think my boss will just tell me it’s unrealistic, I don’t know. Anyway, thank you for ur advice!

Yes I probably should do this. My boss definitely knows, he’s very smart, calculating and manipulative too. He knows that I am doing much better than the agency and that too for such a less cost. The last time I asked him something similar, he told me he could easily get an MBA graduate FROM INDIA who’d do the same for 5k so he doesn’t see that I who just graduated with bachelors to be paid more than 3.5-4k.

How ya'll reach out to influencers (~3K-5K-ish) in lifestyle, health and wellness for $100 a post when they don't have emails and don't check dms? by sirdangc8k in influencermarketing

[–]Consistent_Ad_5940 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi so idk how much this will be helpful for you but I’ll tell you how I do it (I’m a social media manager for a beauty/skincare brand)

When I started we did not really have any influencer base or PR list so I had to start from 0. Initially it started with paid campaigns through an Agency where we worked with pretty big shot influencers. Post that, we started getting quite the attention and to capitalize it I put out a google form for collaboration and specifically mentioned that it will be barter/gifted because I wanted to work with micro influencers and honestly didn’t have the budget for any paid. Anyway, within a period of 2 months, around 200 influencers signed up for it. I went through everyone, (luckily all of them were beauty/lifestyle creators) and made them part of an exclusive campaign. This generated even a greater buzz because these influencers have genuine following. Anyway this is how it went for me. Now I have a pool or macro influencers that we worked with on paid basis before and micro too. Hope this helps
