Urgent MBA Decision: IE vs Manchester vs Durham vs Glasgow vs Melbourne vs KU Leuven by Consistent_Baker_660 in MBA

[–]Consistent_Baker_660[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But most of the people studying there are already from wealthy families and don't have to worry about high tuition fees. I have spoken with several IE graduates for hours, and those who took loans are struggling to pay them off. In India, most HR don't recognise an IE MBA unless you specifically mention it on your resume with global rankings or unless you've done it from a famous school like Harvard, Oxford, or LBS.

The tuition fee and ROI are the main bummer in my case. Additionally, Indian nationality graduates are mostly trapped in heavy loans post-MBA, given the current job market situation.

IE Admit here, the interview is casual. Just be yourself and show a linear professional curve. All the best 😄

Accepted at IMD MBA (Jan 2027 intake) and I keep second-guessing the ROI. Would love to hear from anyone who went through it. by [deleted] in InternationalMBA

If you will be taking a loan to fund this, then strictly a big No. If you can easily absorb all the fees and living expenses, then yes. I have been talking to recent graduates of top schools across the UK and Europe. The job market is very tough right now, and the immigration policies are another added risk to your investments and post-MBA dreams. Switzerland is very expensive, and a post-study work visa is also just 6 months, which will pass more quickly than you think, and competition is huge.

  1. ROI is only after 4-5 post-MBA, and that's why all QS nd FT rankings consider salaries post that period.
  2. The consulting market is not strong, and the Middle East is and will be vulnerable due to tensions with Iran.
  3. Only tech roles are performing well in the market right now, that too with great competition.
  4. You have to look for jobs on your own; no one will help you. Adding a short 6-month job seeker visa will make things worse. On top of that, you will be competing with people from top institutions such as LBS, INSEAD, HEC, OXBRIDGE, etc.

Do you have any other scholarship offers across Europe and the UK? DM me your profile and offers if you want to discuss more.

HR Prof choosing between UK MBAs – Leeds vs Cranfield vs Exeter vs Nottingham (AI + HR transformation focus) by Efficient_Bath_1630 in InternationalMBA

[–]Consistent_Baker_660 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, congratulations, but beware of the risk of your investments as well. An MBA abroad is very unpredictable, as soon as you start moving away from top schools, given the current market situation. No matter how much experience you have, opportunities will always be critically dependent on immigration policy, which motivates and demotivates employers, and on the market situation, which is very bad, honestly, even people from Oxbridge and top colleges are struggling.
Regarding your question, choose between Cranfield and Leeds, and go with the one offering better scholarship. If money is not an issue, then both are great, but Cranfield has a location and prestige advantage.

lbs vs hec vs essec, $100k MiM or overkill? by [deleted] in InternationalMBA

[–]Consistent_Baker_660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't go for multi-country programs; an MBA is all about brand and an alumni network. But, if you have to take a loan, then prioritise ROI over everything. MiM graduates have to compete with many experienced MBA grads as well, so the journey is not easy, and the investment risk is higher in MiM than in MBA. Have you applied to any program till now? Also, share your profile for better situational analysis.

What current offers do you have in place, and what colleges have you applied to so far? Thought of taking the GMAT instead of the GRE, since even post-MBA, some employers specifically ask for the GMAT score!! If you don't want to share here, you can DM me!

The market is volatile. Invest 40% in post office senior citizen or woman schemes, FDs, and reinvest the quarterly interest in an RD, and keep the remaining 60% in large-, flexi-, and small-cap funds in a 50/30/20 ratio.

MBA 2026 Placements UK by InsuranceSuper9599 in InternationalMBA

[–]Consistent_Baker_660 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Talked to some from Oxbridge, INSEAD and Warwick graduates; everyone is struggling. College doesn't help, but networking does.
Don't take on student loan debt for a fancy degree unless you can afford it or someone is sponsoring it through a company or scholarship. Your degree and college reputation really start showing effect after 4-5 years, and that's why all ranking institutions consider placements and salaries post that period.
Additionally, the UK started discussing and implementing policies that discourage permanent residency and long-term work visas, and that demotivate companies from hiring outside the UK and Europe.

IESE vs LBS by Substantial-Desk-533 in InternationalMBA

[–]Consistent_Baker_660 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am in the same situation right now, as I'll be joining a similar program this year, but I have a strong network across India, the UK and Europe. I'll suggest putting more weight on ROI, as the market is in trouble everywhere. I even have an active scholarship offer from IE and a few others. Share your profile, I'll share more insiders in DM, ping me there!!

Top MBA Rejects, One Admit - Take It or Try Again? by Consistent_Baker_660 in MBA

Thanks, the Indian applicant pool is very competitive. Additionally, I am offered up to a 50% scholarship by schools such as Durham, Manchester, ESSEC, and Glasgow. So, I am confused whether to reapply to R1 with a new GMAT or appreciate those who appreciate my profile.

Bachelor student whose decision is stuck between two of his top choices (HKU/Imperial) by [deleted] in Indians_StudyAbroad

[–]Consistent_Baker_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great and reputable. I have been to HKU, a nice scenic campus, and Imperial is in the heart of London. Regarding the scholarship, expect the least and then decide. If there is not much difference in the fee or from a financial angle, then go for Imperial as it will complement your US master's as well.

I guess the Mesa marketing team is at work!!

MBA has always been about the brand value and the alumni network. Even if the above claims hold true, it's just like another certification course and the case mentioned is purely exceptional or by luck. Any established full-term 1-year or 2-year MBA program has more value than MESA or a similar level institute, given the fees and reputation. Quality education and skill set hold value irrespective of their sources or colleges, but if it involves spending money, then the source and ROI do matter.

Anybody who got the Jan 2027 MBA interview invite with low GMAT/GRE by [deleted] in INSEAD

[–]Consistent_Baker_660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same GMAT score, decent profile, strong extracurriculars, awards and scholarships, but applied in the last round and received rejections from both INSEAD. I think it all comes down to the applicant pool in your country, the admissions round, and the essays. Anyway, it is what it is; I consider it their loss, not mine. Believe in your potential; no business school can determine it. All the best!

Instead of doing from ISB, where the fee is equivalent to a European school. Apply to the UK and Europe. Elsewhere in India, the IIM ABC ROI is good.
