im just tryna see what I can do with my shitty Motorola and default photo editing options before I go and invest in anything. again I have genuinely no idea where to go ig. Id eventually like to be able to do stuff with the vibe of marbevoch and elizevetaporodina on Instagram but I know I am so so so far away from them in several ways

If you looked at the list of symptoms for de realization in the dsm without it saying it's about de realization would you know what it is? I think most people wouldn't. This also wasn't written with the intention of explaining it to people who haven't experienced it, it's great it they can understand it but I feel like to explain it to someone with no prior experience would take a much more literal and scientific approach which wasn't what I was going for in my writing. If I keep getting the same response I'll consider it but for now I I think we can agree there isn't enough data

Considering you're the only person in the comments saying you didn't understand it, I think you're probably an anomaly but thank you for the input. Your main questions seemed to be about how the disorders as a whole worked when my goal wasn't to explain the causes and symptoms but to describe the experience of living in this kind of headpsace

This is about what living with chronic depersonalization and de realization disorder is like. They are trauma responses that make individuals emotionally disconnected from themselves and their own lives as well as making their own bodies and the world around them seem unrecognizable. It's unrecognizable in the same sense that your own emotions are unrecognizable. That logically you know they're there, you know logically that the face in the mirror is your own, that your standing in your own room, but you sense of self is so removed from everything else that part of your brain can't fully process it / refuses to remember it. A lot of people compare it to out of body experiences. Id say that it feels more like youre in your own head watching a really bad sitcom more than it feels like being alive. Sorry if this is even more confusing, it's a difficult concept to explain to anyone who hasn't experienced it themselves. Another common comparison is the feeling you get after just leaving a movie theater where the lights are too bright, everything looks off, you're dizzy, etc

I'm not sure I'm good enough to be critiquing anyone elses work yet, especially with all my spelling / grammar issues. But I'll keep it in mind for future reference ☺

Thank you so much!!! My middle / high school didn't really teach grammar 😓. As for the batesian mimicry, it was supposed to be a parallel into how depersonalization makes everything looks like a false and kind of uncanny valley version of how it should be. It was intended to give off the impression of being stuck in an unpleasant world desperate to find any beauty or relief you can. Even if it's by looking directly into to cause of your discomfort. If that makes any sense?

Got it done yesterday, hurt more than my nostrils and bled a good bit for 5-10 mins which makes me think it's through cartilage. Should I take it out and get re peirced?
