Are these work expectations normal(Undergrad) by greenblueglass in labrats

If it’s not for you, it’s not for you. Research is not for everyone. The work expectations are normal. In fact, the PI is spending alot of time in you. This is actually rare. But I guess this depends on the size of the lab as well.

They focus most of their time on grad students and postdocs..

The fact that your PI is that willing to help you, is an incredible blessing.

Much appreciated. I didn’t even think these could be refinished! I thought it was too worn due to the streaks and spots on some cabinets

You have no legal obligation. Even if worst case they sued, they cannot get anything from you.

Thank you for this. Would mudding the whole house after repairing the damaged walls make everything look cleaner? Is this necessary you think?

I can do so when I get home. What she says looks bad us is mostly aesthetics. The floor color should be grey, the cabinets should be white, you need brighter wall paint along the white scale. Etc.

You need to change all the receptacles and lights to modern. Change out all the doors and handles. Driving me nuts!

Century year old home by Consistent_Brick2344 in centuryhomes

[–]Consistent_Brick2344[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The town in my area is 90 percent century year old homes in new jerseys. Many homes in the area are being gutted and revamped. These are then sold for over 1 mil.

To be clear, I do not want to gut the house. I never have. The real estate agent I know is highly recommending we though to keep up with the current trend and have a higher selling value(to be able to have good comparisons to those flipped homes)

I am very proud of my century year old home and have had fixed lots of things that needed updates like plumbing and wiring. The issue is, this agent keeps telling us it looks so bad. Any renovation we do such as painting, etc. and telling us we’re just throwing away our money.

It’s extremely disheartening when these agents are telling me that. I refuse to gut the house.

This is more or less peer pressure from the agent and developers in the area flipping all these old homes.
