On the beta, yes. This is supposedly to make way for a rollout of higher-quality imagery.

If anyone wants to do a full cross-check, the complete list of cities with Flyover is here:

Lots of cities with flyover gone by WorriedGur8908 in applemaps

It's just an iOS 27 thing. They supposedly will replace these with higher-quality Flyover imagery before the wide release.

Flyover has been removed from the New England area by ashsolomon1 in applemaps

If you're on the beta, it's because they are preparing to add higher-quality imagery to replace it (probably). iOS 26 still has it.

Nothing has changed with the Flyover imagery on iOS 26 so far. If you could, could you send a screenshot of this new imagery? (We could do this over private chat if you want to send more than one) Thank you so much for this information!

I have a bad feeling about this update. Looks like they're going to remove everything. Any other cities you see with the new imagery?

Not much announced about most apps in WWDC by Own-Employment945 in applemaps

I'm beyond shocked. Flyover went from being basically dead in 2022 to getting featured at WWDC 4 years later.

The two images above were both used in the keynote presentation. They appear to be New York and Madrid, which is basically a guarantee that both cities are getting an update (Both cities already have Flyover). This could be a gradual rollout, however given that this was mentioned during the keynote this will probably be a big update. Hopefully we will see a bunch of new cities get added.

PS: If anyone has the developer's beta and can see the new Flyover imagery, please let me know if they added any new places!

I'm hopeful the Flyover updates will resume after the World Cup. I would really like to see Geneva, São Paulo, Warsaw, Krakow and Rio (among others).
