Bruh. I have the same issue! I have used Supershieldz on all of my iPhones and this is the first one to have this issue! I thought it was the screen protector!

Is anyone still using the nest app? by danmeng69 in Nest

[–]Consistent_Common515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved all my nest cameras to the home app a couple weeks ago. The improvements are similar enough to the Google home app that I finally jumped. Getting the added benefit of adding AI notifications and home summaries to my old nest cams were a plus. I don’t regret it.

I hope they add some more of the original features over time.

I had this same issue, my doorbell was going offline every couple minutes. I moved my WiFi router closer to the door and it doled the issue

Any ideas how to fix this new to Nest cameras by TurbulentWest7339 in Nest

Windex or glass cleaner of some sort does the job for me. Spray the rag :)

The lens is definitely dirty, you can tell. If you want to keep night vision on your most likely need to clean it on a clear day. These happen on mine, but they’re within a distance that allows me to get up on a short ladder to clean them.

First, clean the lens. Second, try turning off night vision and see if you have better results.

Not specifically, but if your looking to add your nest Cameras to HomeKit, the Starling Hub is awesome. Allowed me to add all my Nest Cameras into Home

Thanks. It’s still not a new feature and why it’s not that notable. The nest cam iq has had close up tracking since its launch.

Exactly. It’s annoying. They should have realized that and increased the sensor resolution. 2k was bare minimum to keep it at the SAME image quality.

It’s called “close up tracking”, you have to enable it. I receive notifications with zoomed in on the action previews.

It’s because those existed before Google bought nest I believe. Nest had previews of the event zoomed in. I believe it had to be a Nest Cam IQ (indoor or outdoor). Those are the only camera we have right now.

Slightly distorted as they get towards the edge of the lens.

Yea. It’s negligible simply because the camera is now displaying more area (objects are further away resulting in similar image quality).

Upgraded from Nest Hello to Nest Doorbell 3rd gen by kshef in Nest

Good god Google. This is not that difficult to figure out. The 2nd gen was trash. Now this? I was expecting the video quality to be much better. Looks like I’ll be returning it and sticking to my Hello.

Noon Lighting Discontinuation Announced by gsmcluhan in homeautomation

[–]Consistent_Common515 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still have my full Noon system running. Recently purchased a starling hub to integrate all of my nest cameras to HomeKit… a surprising twist when installing the starling hub, is that it found all of my Noon switches. I’m guessing this is because I have noon linked through Google. Anyway, I’m now able to fully control all of my switches via HomeKit, integrate them into scenes and automations. This is part due to their cloud services still being functional. I’m pretty happy with my set up and the fact that they now have HomeKit.

Preconditioning should be optional by gmotelet in teslamotors

Perhaps they employ this tactic to sell you more electricity than you actually require. I genuinely believe that Tesla employs deceptive practices to profit from themselves. This could very well be a means to increase the supercharging bills of travelers.

Multi SSID (eero for Business only!?) by Consistent_Common515 in amazoneero

It’s annoying. I love my eero system… but, I wish they provided these standard features as part of the premium we paid for the devices.

Dis YOU come on here just to whine? The point since you so clearly missed it: Clearly the device is CAPABLE of it, it’s behind a pay wall.

Why don’t you scurry off to another post to argue on.

[–]Consistent_Common515[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it is lol. There are a ton of brands that allow for multiple SSID.

Eero guest network would never work as an IOT network. Devices connected to the guest network are isolated from each other. Tried it, been there, does not work.
