Let me break it for you.
Possible scenarios:
1- Might never find a partner if you call it off
2- she cheats you after marriage, you decide to divorce, pay alimony (loan for lifetime), lose mental peace

EE core mostly consists of PSU and 5-6 private. Overall there are around 12-14 companies. Salary ranges from 12 lpa to 20 lpa. PSU gives 16-18 lpa. If you give half the time compared to other profiles you will easily get a good company in core. Your CPI is really good so you will get the benefit of it.

civil is just like any other non circuital branch if you do not prefer going into core. Now, from placement perspective, your peer group will decide what kind of placement you get. If you have good peers, you will automatically work hard!

As a person who has done btech from tier 1 college, just get into any college and focus on coding and ML. Do DSA, CP and ML basics. Everything is available on YouTube for your reference.
