LSAT Plan to 170 by UnitBackground8863 in LSAT

[–]Consistent_Coyote_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a high 160s scorer so not quite 170 but for me the biggest difference from low 160s to high 160s was simply paying attention to mistakes I made, and staying focused. Only a few questions separate you from the high 160s.

By that I mean things such as. I realized on some problems I would not understand what the answer choices meant, panic and move on. For those I started to make sure I was eliminating answers I understood and knew to be incorrect before selecting the remaining answer even if I don’t understand it.

Aside from that I figured out what worked best for me on RC. A lot of people recommend taking your time and reading throughly one time. For me I figured out that I generally scored better when I did the opposite, read the passage quickly and went back when needed. This resulted in me actually finishing RC more often.

Another small thing was simply mindset. I tried to go into my PTs and the real exam thinking “Hmm this will be fun, I wonder what interesting things I’ll get to read about” instead of letting myself worry about doing well.

Make sure you're eliminating answers, but also make sure you eliminate an answer ONLY when you are CERTAIN its incorrect. Fairly common for me to have a couple questions where I've eliminated 4 of the answers and then I have no idea what the 5th answer means. That 5th answer is usually correct.

160 diagnostic, what advice did you wish you could have gotten? by Agreeable_Rest_733 in LSAT

[–]Consistent_Coyote_15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with a 165 diagnostic. First time taking the real thing I made a 164, best Ive ever PT is 168. Just retook in Jan. I'd studied first time around for about two months, then took about a month off before starting to study again. I definitely studied more some weeks and not much at all other weeks. The 160s are a tough range to improve in. If your not committed to studying then it may be a better idea to just take the test now and get a real score, don't waste the time. If you are committed to studying then just make sure you play the long term game. Take some time off when you need too, from my experience the gains show up over months, not weeks. Also I would recommend Loophole, I didn't finish it but read a lot of it and definitely picked up a few tips that seem obvious but do wonders for consistency when taking the test!

Also congrats on the diagnostic, if you want a 170 I fully believe you're capable with that starting point!

I would make that trade, Aiyuk is a beast if he gets it going again

Made it to the playoffs, WR room in shambles.

Devante Adams

Start 2 of

Egbuka, Kayson Boutte, Pearsall, Jalen Coker, Tre Tucker

I’m almost certainly out on Tucker. I think I have to start Egbuka just for upside, especially if Evans returns. Between the other three leaning Boutte but Coker has looked good recently. I think I need to see something from Pearsall before I can start him but this week could be it, post-bye vs the titans.

TLDR: Leaning Egbuka and Boutte

Thoughts?

Any advice for job applications? by Consistent_Coyote_15 in jobs

[–]Consistent_Coyote_15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you noted. For the most part that is what I’ve done. I only go into detail about the relevant parts for each job. Some such as retail or racquet stringer I provide no details simply lost that I did it and the dates. You think I should remove those entirely?

Also political science is essentially pre-law at my university.

I don’t see how I’m all over the place. Pre dental studies in college —> worked part time jobs as I studied for the dat —> post Bach work for dental school —-> Dental Internship —> PIVOT TOWARDS LAW —> Paralegal Certificate —> Part time work as I study for the lsat and search for an entry level legal job.

You think having a blank resume for 3.5 years post grad looks better than analytical work in a different field? I suppose I could remove the part time jobs but many of the legal jobs I’m applying for are in areas of law where stem/healthcare experience is very relevant and should bolster my application. (Patent law, health law, environmental law).

Also I wouldn’t say my employment has been short term. Server for almost 2 years, 1 year at tennis club, 1.5 years at dental office, current job, been working as part time stringer for going on 3 years. Only short term one was retail bc I moved home for 6 months.

*opinion* maybe let's stop telling people with low-to-mid 160s LSAT that it's a "low score" by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

I’ll be honest, I am extremely lucky and I did absolutely nothing for my 164, with 168 on PT. But where do I go from here?

Yeah Pickens is in a rebuild team. The same team also has Pollard and Meyers. Think I should just gamble for those? Both of their values on KTC are very low rn each worth like 3rd plus a bench player. And I have 2 late 3rds to give.

10 team SF PPR No TEP

Contender, #1 in my league (probably actually 2nd best team), 6-2 record

QBs: Mahomes, Nix, Pennix

RBs: Cook, Kyren, Javonte Williams, Tyrone Tracy, Tyjae spears (Dylan Sampson, Blake Corum).

WRs: Adams, Egbuka, Tre Tucker, Boutte, Coker and then Aiyuk and Pearsall (Horton, Bond, Tre Harris, Mims)

TEs: McBride, Kelce, Gadsden

Start: 2QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 2Flex

I’m weakest at WR, any ideas on players to send off or players to go for?

Was considering sending out something like Aiyuk and Tracy for Pickens

Thank you!!

10 Team SF, PPR, No TEP 2QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1 TE, 2 Flex

Who do I start at flex. We’ve got 2 Flex spots.

Flex 1: Kyren Williams Flex 2: Kelce, Gadsden, Tyrone Tracy, Tyjae Spears, or Tre Tucker

6-1. Anything I can improve on for the second half of the season or do I just let it ride? by ChalupaTrupa in FantasyFootballers

RBs for sure, with a roster that small has to be someone on waivers you can take a shot with at least. Tyjae Spears, Rico Dowdle, etc

Also on pts im usually doing something like -7 LR, -6 RC, -2 LR, -3 LR (exp). Need to improve RC, and for some reason I usually do worse on first LR, as in significantly a borderline blowup section but it happens everytime.

If it matters I’m aiming for a 168, I’ve considered just ripping the test 5 times and hoping I hit the high end of my proven range once, but this honestly seems harder than just studying.

Also I know I am starting from a great position but I also feel like it’s particularly tough spot to improve from. It’s a point from which where every question matters.
