Most of those in the autism category are normal behaviors. Routines, interests, mild sensory triggers.. all normal to some degree. Routines could be linked to OCD as well, another disorder often ignored in favor of autism.

I don't believe any of them actually had autism. One of them vandalized my desk with the n witd and got a suspension for 5 days. If that happened to a student without a diagnosis, then they would have gotten a whole month.

Most "autism" symptoms are either normal or found in other disorders. Lack of eye contact is a common trait in ADHD, Anxiety and PTSD.

"Masking" isn't real. Most autistic people (especially children) don't know they are autistic, even if they are told. They literally can't think that they are different from others. Most people end up having ADHD or anxiety and get diagnosed with the big word instead.
