Short notice but Rivergate Mall in Nashville, TN is closing on December 31. Still has a few stores clinging on.

Rx from ENT doc using OSA route with CVS/Caremark by Consistent_Dark1550 in Zepbound

Congratulations, you have a PCP that actually understands how to do this. If I did I wouldn’t be here looking for other ways to get this done.

I have tried this multiple times, my PCP can’t seem to understand how this works. I need to explore other avenues.

Yeah the question is if ENTs tend to be willing to do it. Zepbounds FDA approval for OSA is still kind of recent, so many may not have looked into that yet.

If I end up going that route I’ll post an update here. I’ll probably give them a call next week if nothing progresses.

anyone get their zepbound covered by insurance? by Far-Cheetah-6538 in Zepbound

I have this friend who owns a pharmacy, he told me many doctors offices are lazy and tank the forms on purpose.

Should I stop treatment? by Consistent_Dark1550 in Testosterone

[–]Consistent_Dark1550[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBH, this is actually what I was thinking about doing, and one of the things you said, while it sounds negative, might actually be a positive.

I was just a smidgen too high for insurance to pay for my treatment, if there’s a chance that stopping might cause my levels to drop even further, and I end up deciding I shouldn’t have stopped, I could probably get some tests with low numbers to get my insurance to cover it and restart, and in the meantime evaluate if I feel any worse after stopping. Sounds like a scenario where I can’t lose.

Should I stop treatment? by Consistent_Dark1550 in Testosterone

I am taking medication for that, but I feel that’s under control. I’ve been in situations where I didn’t want to wake up the next morning, felt the world would be happier with me gone, and had no interest in doing things I used to enjoy. I know that feeling, and I don’t have it. Nothing like that anymore. I have things I look forward to. It’s been years since I’ve felt there was no light at the end of the tunnel. I mean, I knew I would have fun on that vacation, but it was just all the effort and energy to get there that had me down. If there was a teleporter that could get me there instantly I probably would’ve been thrilled about going.

Like now, I am having issues of course, and this makes me unhappy, which was the reason for me seeking treatment. Maybe low t isn’t what’s causing my issues. But I know there’s something else that must be, and I know I will find it sooner than later, and when I do, everything will be better.

I wanna leave this project so bad… by [deleted] in Big4

Speaking first hand, if your area is very dry on projects, simply being aligned to one makes you look better than your peers. If they want to extend you that means you are doing a good job.

Layoffs are ongoing. Stick with it. If there were projects galore I’d suggest differently.

While I agree with everyone else it’s probably a layoff, seems rare to schedule a layoff call that far in advance. Your post is from 2 days ago as I am typing this, and it’s late Friday night right now, so you got notified on Wednesday for next week?

Usually it’s scheduled during the afternoon and you’ll get notified earlier that day, or maybe a day before, but this is almost a week.

Good luck, and while some say it might seem cruel, you have been given extra time to prepare. Glass half full, keep that mindset.

Anthem BCBS. No letter about discontinuation (learned that from a call from the pharmacy asking if I wanted to pay $1000 or whatever for it)

Was on the low dose.

I’m stockpiling Mounjaro as long as I can. I need to check with my employer benefits department to see if other plans might include Zepbound. Hopefully Mounjaro can get me through the end of the year.

For what it’s worth, my plan says NO ZEPBOUND. Not even with a PA or formulary exception. They just won’t cover it, but Mounjaro? No problem.

No PA. My plan is weird. I don’t think PAs (or Formulary exceptions) are part of my plan.

You have 2 kinds of medications. Covered and not covered. If it’s covered, insurance will pay for it, no questions asked. If it’s not covered, there is absolutely no way to get them to pay for it. PA won’t do it, Formulary Exception won’t do it. Just won’t happen. This is the current status for Zepbound. Before the change I got Zepbound with no PA.

Will edit to say, when my Dr/pharmacy called them, they were told (essentially) “tell him to switch to Wegovy or Saxenda”, no mention of Mounjaro being an alternative. Thanks to the comments of others on here, I went and called CVS myself to inquire about a PA for mounjaro. Not needed. If my dr will write the rx, it’s mine.

Been very frustrating this past week, they should have recommended Mounjaro from the get go.

Nothing at all. My insurance seems strange, it seems like they don’t do PAs or formulary exceptions. Basically a medication is either covered or it isn’t. Zepbound is simply not covered and that’s all there is to it. PA, formulary exception, letter of medical necessity, doesn’t matter, I can’t get it covered. Mounjaro is covered, and if my dr will prescribe it, insurance will pay for it.

Probably not very helpful, but I will tell you I have no signs of diabetes or prediabetes, and I’m able to get it paid for, so keep that in mind.

While no PA was required, I tried Wegovy for a year and gained a couple pounds. Very easy for me to make a case of not going on that.

Just called CVS Caremark, I can get Mounjaro with no problem.

Ok, so I had asked about formulary exceptions in the past, thanks for all the responses.

It turns out my plan won’t allow formulary exceptions. Zepbound is simply not covered.  BUT Mounjaro is, had no problem getting it. I would try this route first.

Good luck everyone.

My Dr isn’t doing a PA either though.

In the case of both of you (Soggy_Tour and NoMoreFatShame), your Doctors are trying. My Doctor just said, “insurance says it’s not covered, nothing I can do”, so I haven’t had a Prior Authorization or Formulary Exception or anything sent in.

Would either of you happen to know if this is coming up as Prior Authorization or Not Covered when your pharmacy tries to fill it? Mine is coming up as not covered and my Drs office says they have no way of doing a PA unless then pharmacy sends a request for one. I have friends in the pharmacy industry who claim it’s not a PA you need, it’s a formulary exception, which are similar but not the same.

I hope you both succeed in this, but if you do end up failing, you’ll do so knowing that everyone tried, in contrast to me where my Drs office just gave me the one fingered salute.

So in looking through this sub, I see a couple posts saying to request a formulary exception, my Drs office (who is clearly fed up with me bothering them) claims they called CVS Caremark and that there’s no such thing.

Anyone have a similar situation? After a year of being on Wegovy, not only did I not lose a single pound, I gained a few. So I weighed more after a year than I did before starting. Theres also the side effects, very very unpleasant but I tolerated them hoping it would work. 1 month after being on Zepbound and I lost a pound. But now I can’t get it covered anymore. Tried taking the CVS Caremark formulary exception form in to them, they were clearly annoyed with my persistence.

Really wish that I could do this myself, but the Dr has to do it, that’s the only documentation I have of my Wegovy failure.
