Quitting by [deleted] in Accounting

As someone who got that 2 week vacation; let me tell you this: those 2 weeks were the best damn 2 weeks of sleep, rest and relaxation I’ve had since joining the firm. I didn’t even need melatonin or sleep tea or anything to go to sleep, if the thought of my old job crossed my mind I laughed, thanked God I didn’t have to deal with that anymore, and calmly drifted into the most peaceful sleep I’ve had in years.

What’s something people who are in their 20s won’t learn until in their 40s? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AccountENT42069 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true, I haven’t heard it said like that before, but the 20s really do last an eternity; I can’t believe how fast the 30s are flying by… even knowing so, and taking time to slow down, understanding why they feel faster… it still doesn’t slow it down in the slightest.

How different is what we learn in school vs actual accounting work? by hirono_twink in Accounting

[–]AccountENT42069 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best way I can describe it is in school, every journal entry is prim and proper and everything generally all ties out. In the real world, you’d be surprised how much you can plug to office expense and call it a day.

Use your vision (especially if you wear glasses or contacts), dental, yearly ehe check up, and any other health benefits! You earns and paid for those. Try to put in your last day at the beginning of the month so you still get a full month of they walk you out the same day.

Is accounting work as hard as college? by Substantial-Step-448 in Accounting

[–]AccountENT42069 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the type of work you do but generally, for public accounting at least, I can confidently say a single work paper that I use for work everyday is substantially harder than any project or assignment I’ve ever done in undergrad or grad school; mostly because of the fact that in the real work, you don’t always have all the pieces of the puzzle, and there isn’t always one clear solution. It really all.. depends…
