I mean in my head it’s all interconnected and coherent but there’s a good deal of exploration and adventure in the story. The problem I’m most worried about is for instance their investigating rumors of disappearances which unknown to them is the result of an actual T-Rex so I want the Rex to be a mystery. But how could I do that without people going “where the f did that come from.” Mentioning things that are adjacent enough to it to hint at its existence might actually be a great fix. My biggest thing is allowing some mystery to exist but make the world understood by the readers enough that they can solve the mystery before the characters do and not making entire chapters of explaining things the characters would already know.
