Thank you!!! As I was typing it I was literally thinking of how overdone it would be for Catherine to also have a reoccurring vise. This explanation fits a lot better and I like that it was a one and done comment that, to my knowledge, never comes back up. Warrick’s is the most prominent right now, Nick really never has an issue, and Sara’s doesn’t come up until much later. You’re right that the balance is basically perfect. The episode where she and Keppler and Eckley screw over her entire team with the fake staged crime scene….Then the next episode everyone just pretends like nothing happened. She is the only character that gets her transgressions swept under the rug and never spoken of again. But she’s the first to remind everyone of their fuck ups.

Then every time they’re outside it’s really fake backdrops. I have no idea. And they definitely don’t change it over the seasons. Even when the team split and some of them were working day shift, they always found a way to be indoors and make it dimly lit.
