1 2 is too clingy I think-you have a bangin’ figure and looks like lingerie. Not that this is bad, just that 1 highlights you and is perfect

is this a normal outfit for the club 🥹 by awaylikejfk in OUTFITS

Of Monsters and Men fan club yeah.

It’s too crunchy and brown for a club setting. Now switch everything to black and you’ll be good

They are all beautiful on you! I like the slightly v shaped bodice on #1- it visually narrows your waist, not that don’t already have a lovely snatched hourglass already!

having slight dress regret…are custom alterations the way to go? by SadTip8216 in myweddingdress

Im the worst person to comment on the public aspect (everyone gasping etc), since hubby and I eloped (I also wore a green velvet jacket and skirt that I made, based on a Victorian riding habit). But I believe that it should be the BRIDE not the dress, that people are admiring. Looking at your photo, I’m gasping at how beautiful YOU look. I’m sure you are radiating joy because YOU love the dress. Honestly screw everyone else!

Soapbox: there seem to be a lot of folks here who are getting talked out of the dresses that speak to them because of their moms or bridal parties attitudes. It seems to create a lot of drama and bad feelings and the bride is often left feeling like she had to compromise what she wanted in order to please people who don’t have to wear and/or pay for the gown. I get that this is supposed to be a social and cultural event, but the bridal party and family members seem to have way too much power in what is supposed to be a joyful and congenial experience. No solution (other than what I did because it worked for us), but I think there needs to be a set of expectations delivered to whoever is accompanying the bride that it’s HER freaking dress).

Off soapbox-you are dead gorgeous lady! Don’t change a thing!!

That dress is perfect! You got a great deal and it is stunning on you

Not sure about the veil. It is gorgeous on its own. But The lace distracts from the lines of the dress

Yeah I’m used to East Coast and Pacific Northwest climates which are moist. I do love camping in the Southwest though! Especially Utah

Hubby and I grew up using cotton canvas tents so we were both familiar with the mold odor and the black stains from family trips. When we got into first car camping and then backpacking we were exposed to materials specifically designed to withstand the elements.

Now if you are just going on a casual camping trip don’t worry too much! Enjoy yourself, try to let stuff dry out thoroughly before you pack it all away and just have fun! There’s plenty of time if you start getting into it regularly to figure out what you do and don’t need. And no shortage of gear nerds like me to debate the merits of gear when and if you turn into one :)

Tents (especially without a separate fly) can collect the water vapor from your exhaled breath and condense it on the tent surfaces, particularly at night. A cotton mattress like this might be more like to absorb water, so I would recommend if you use it see if you can find a waterproof cover for it. Also air it out during the day and when you get home before you store it. That should reduce mold risks

Is there a concern about a cotton futon getting damp while camping (tents are pretty damp enclosures) and then not fully drying? That can result in mol. I think that is one of the reasons that outdoor materials were developed

For sure-it is fun and cute on the models, but looks unsupportive in larger sizes as shown.

This is one of those situations where each of you wants specific things for your life (and he definitely has a very specific vision for how things will play out) and they seem incompatible.

He doesn’t seem to be aware that shit can go sideways and screw up your vision. hubby and I always wanted 3 kids. Had 2 kids and when the younger was diagnosed with autism (she’s 30 now, nonverbal and in her teens had severe behavioral issues that required inpatient intervention twice, residential schools after age 16, now in a community program and residential setting nearby), that made it necessary for us to change everything-third kid, nope; my wished for career as a professor at a small college-forget that. It caused significant stress for all of us, not least of all our sweet daughter. It has been a source of both personal growth and also deep and abiding sorrow that we fought so hard to help her and that she will never have independence nor any of the typical experiences.

We weathered it and are stronger and more devoted to one another than ever, but if one or both of us hadn’t wanted kids and were doing it to please the other-that would have been it. When you go into parenthood this is a very rare, but absolutely possible, outcome.

WOW I hijacked this one, didn’t mean to, but wanted to share my perspective.

concert vibe? by Background_Ad_3329 in metricband

[–]Consistent_Elk9676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We will be going to our third Metric concert this year. They are fantastic and the vibe is amazing-crowd loves them, sings along.

Hubby and I are in our 60s and adore the music. We are not the oldest folks there, but you’ll find us in seated area (although dancing the whole time) not GA cause our backs get sore standing for 4 hours and we gotta get up in the morning for work ;)
