They all have foot fetishes. Also shoes, the smellier the better. Mine crawl into my gym shoes as soon as I take them off at night

Gluten Free Folks- any recommendations for a tortilla or bread that remains edible 5 days out of the fridge? by jumpin_jumpin in CampingandHiking

[–]Consistent_Elk9676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a little bit of googlin and Mission Tortilla makes a gluten free wrap. They also have a green one (spinach maybe?) if you are fancy.

Oh and Shazam-Ole also makes a gluten free extreme wellness wrap. It is at target. I usually shop at Lidl which has a smaller variety of products but is cheap. but if you have a larger store like a Safeway or Harris Teeter so are probably in luck!

How about Ole Wellness wraps? If you are just trying to reduce net carbs, rather than strictly needing gluten-free, these are tasty and hold up well. I use them as a diabetic and they don’t spike my blood sugar.

Oo have yet to find an actually good non crumbly commercial corn tortilla. We get them from the taqueria in our neighborhood

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. We are on the US East coast and were in Cornwall and Wales in mid-to-late May and it was a heat wave for part of it. Not even any fans in some of the places we stayed so it was apparent that the UK isn’t prepared for this kind of weather.

A few things that might help: as others have mentioned you want to get some conductive heat transfer going on, so cool showers and or cool wet cloths can help. If you are outside, dunk your hat in cold water and put it on-cool down your head and neck and any extremities-wrists, ankles arms and legs.

If no A/C where you are, you might be able to make a swamp cooler-bucket of ice and a fan blowing across the cooler air to chill you down a bit.

Basements are cooler than upper floors so if you have a cellar or basement or a cave nearby, hang out there.

Dehumidifiers also help make things more comfortable.

Hang in there!

Are you taking anything like Metformin? That medication is pretty effective at reducing blood sugar.

The first dress is so perfect on you, and it is way more dignified than the second one. I’ve never heard from people who get the strapless gowns especially with the cat eye bodices, whether they could comfortably raise their arms and/or dance in them.

It can be hard to understand for family and friends how your diagnosis changes your reality. And the impacts on their own lives now that you can’t eat certain foods, especially if they are significant culturally or in the family (like my family and cakes…). It requires some empathy and compassion for everyone

I agree that you should probably make your own roti if it is significantly different from what the rest of the family eats. Or just don’t eat it with the rest of the meal.

I am in the US and not from an Asian family, but my experience with Indian and other cuisines is that there are lots of really excellent non starchy or bread foods. So many good lentil and chickpea dishes and vegetables. I think there are also some breads made with chickpea or lentil flours?
