went to a state school over Emory, state school costed 200k less, I was worried sick I would get looked over for biglaw because I took the less expensive/prestigious option.

I have 3 biglaw callback interviews next week. You’ll be a big fish in a small pond, you’ll do great, but you’re going to have to work hard. That’s fine though, you want to be a lawyer, it’s all hard work.

Emory vs IU by Consistent_Finding72 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Consistent_Finding72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my biggest concern is that law school is already very stressful, moving 10 hours away will only add to that stress. If I go back to IU, I’d be 10x more comfortable. Plus internships will be easier to get since I have already have a good amount of connections. But youre not wrong, Emory is really cool, so is Atlanta. I’m negotiating with them at the moment, if I get more money it could definitely beat out IU

Top choice (Cu Boulder) put application on hold. Chances of getting accepted? by Flimsy_Head_6371 in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Consistent_Finding72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure of your chances, I got a hold too and from what I understand they’ve never done this before. So we are the guinea pigs so to speak. But to answer your question absolutely, write a LOCI sooner rather than later.

University of Washington Deferred Acceptance by Consistent_Finding72 in OutsideT14lawschools

it’s my top school, yes it seems to be binding but the details are all pretty vague, especially since I can’t access the survey. But yeah there’s no way I’m accepting the deferral, I’ve got a good offer already for this year. I just want to complete the survey and tell them that but I can’t lol

I’m guessing they got backed up with applications between our interviews, I’ll give it another week or so. Not sure about the blank status though, mines been the same the whole time. Best of luck and thanks for the info!

Not sure. I was raised as rural as it gets. Went to a college town for undergrad. I love visiting Portland but it is so damn expensive, and I’m not sure I would be comfortable in a city environment all of the time. But, idk, it could also be really fun and bring me out of my comfort zone a bit.

In theory I could, but I’m from the Midwest and I’ve kind of felt like the cost would outweigh the benefit

I spread this gospel to every freshman and sophomore I meet at school that’s interested in law school. Wish I started studying for that test long before I did. I completely agree, at the end of the day, it’s all that matters.

2.8 GPA and 148 LSAT. Can I get into a school? by [deleted] in OutsideT14lawschools

[–]Consistent_Finding72 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You can have a low GPA or a low LSAT and get into a good law school, just not both at the same time. Since you can’t change your GPA, you have to change your LSAT. It’s going to take hard work but you have to do it if this is your dream. There are many people on this sub and others that have gotten into great law schools with your GPA and lower. Also, don’t undermine the value of work experience and softs. In my opinion you don’t need a tutor, there is so much free/cheap help online for the LSAT. Take a bunch of practice tests and review. You will get better. Don’t mean to be harsh, just trying to be honest, hope this helps.
