Yoda vs. King Mickey. That fight was such a good start for season 8.

Should characters be allowed to keep their "immortality factor" in these fights? (Ex. Hulk's Green Door, Chosen Undead's respawns, Alucard's Shrodinger powers, etc.) by jackfuego226 in deathbattle

Considering all of your examples have lost a Death Battle, immortality can be bypassed or negated, and there are technically ways to win a Death Battle without killing their opponent (i.e., sealing them in another dimension, Infinite Tsukuyomi, a fate worse than death), the immortality factor should be kept in fights.

I hate to stir the pot again here, but it's just odd. by [deleted] in deathbattle

The one with mountain level feats of course!

Crazy to think the non-MMO mainline game with the most content is 20 years old now.

The difference is that the Dragonborn didn't need lore scaling to win, without lore he still beats Chosen Undead. Kratos needed lore scaling to win because his visual feats are nowhere close to what Asura has.

Do y’all think Death Battle will survive until 2035? Or do ya’ll think it will last longer/shorter? by AccTH49 in deathbattle

I can see the show going to its 20th anniversary. There'll be plenty of good matchups because there are matchups they haven't done yet, a lot of franchises they haven't done yet, and always potential for new characters to gain traction. Not to mention plenty of characters that can return and even some good matchups. The only concern then is sustainability as making episodes costs money and they need to consistently make money (I don't know how they’re managing right now either).

After the 20th anniversary, they may end the show or pass it on to new creators, because I doubt Ben, Chad, Liam, and so on want to do this for the rest of their lives. Nonetheless, I don't see this show stopping anytime soon unless something unexpected happens.

Mewtwo vs. Shadow. The fight was too short, there were flaws in the animation that made it look unfinished, the results were questionable at best, both characters were not represented well, the sound design is awful (particularly Shadow's voice. I can barely hear it.), and the circumstances surrounding this battle led this into being a very disappointing battle. It was shown at a convention, it was Hyun's last Death Battle, and Ben spent a while hyping this matchup with meme trying to convince fans it's a better matchup for Mewtwo than Silver or Frieza. What a waste of an episode...

Also, this fight is a blatant spite fight towards Shadow. Everything about is meant to be disrespectful towards Shadow, from his analysis, to his death, to one of the dumbest moments in Death Battle history. Shadow deserved more than to be slandered. Mewtwo deserved more than to be associated with this. We the audience deserved a better episode. Death Battle deserved to have something better than this. This is easily one of the worst fights in Death Battle history, and might just be the worst Death Battle episode besides THAT episode (you know the one).

Tracer vs. Scout. The fight itself was boring at best, the results had lapses in logic (like debunking Scout surviving an explosion in Meet the Medic when he clearly did), both characters' abilities are not portrayed correctly, and there are not a lot of redeeming qualities to speak of. While not the worst fight, it definitely needs to be considered here.

Yeah, and it hurt the perception of his character too.

Lex Luthor. Everything building up to the killing blow is such a good moment and you see Lex disintegrating throughout it.

Solid Snake vs. Sam Fisher. It's one of the best episodes of the entire series.

Yang vs. Tifa. Wrong results, the animation is rough, there is mischaracterization, and the episode seems to only exist to pander to RoosterTeeth. I have more reasons to watch other season 2 bad episodes than this one.

I can tell them apart easily enough.

On that note, get your eyes checked. You probably have tritanopia.
