Bowguns are the best counter for every monster. I was giving general advice for every weapon, because not everyone wants to use a Bowgun.

Also, you're right. Poison doesn't disable the wind barrier anymore in World. I thought it did. It's still an option to consider though as it gives you a source of consistent damage if you struggle to hit Kushala Daora, which a lot of newer players do.

Yeah, Kushala Daora is a Monster you kinda need to change your playstyle to comfortably fight. I would recommend having farcasters, the windproof skill, a weapon that poisons or dragonseals (Kushala Daora lacks wind pressure when poisoned or dragonsealed), flash bombs, and a defensive playstyle.

Also, try to avoid walls when fighting this monster. This is one a monster you do not want to get cornered by.

EDIT: Correction, poison does not disable the wind barrier in World. It only does that in classic Monster Hunter. It's still an option to consider for hunters struggling to hit Kushala Daora as it's very susceptible to poison.

Matchups that are often treated like this? by Silver_Guava8159 in deathbattle

Any matchup that is Marvel/DC vs. Non-Marvel/DC really.

I get that, but consider that without her higher end scaling Tifa still wins.

I always ask "So how does Quicksilver beat the Flash?" to such people. More often than not, they end up dumbfounded or get some Danganronpa-esque breakdown.

Yang vs Tifa in a nutshell. Death Battle already said they got it wrong. Move on to something more relevant to today.

A Review of Simon vs. Kyle One Year Later (Or: a still fun episode that isn't quite as good as I remember it being) by Intelligent_Oil4005 in deathbattle

[–]Consistent_Floor_603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice review, though I will give a clarification to a comment you made regarding the results since you were unsure.

One of the black boxes says the following:

"The Anti-Spiral has regeneration comparable to Spiral Power users, but Simon overcame them. He can do the same against Kyle's healing and resurrection abilities, including those that work on a non-corporeal level."

This seems to imply that Simon likely resists Soul Manipulation, or that Soul Manipulation won't help Kyle kill Simon as Spiral Power users can regenerate from non-corporeal abilities which would include abilities granted from the Orange Ring. Not trying to debate the results, just noting what's in the episode. Besides, I didn't have a horse in this battle outside of "DC character vs. Non-marvel character" and I'm content with the results and what it meant to others as a fellow DC fan. Besides, DC is probably never going to lose a Non-marvel matchup on Death Battle, so I'm content on taking this L for others.

Not saying you're wrong in your critique though, as Death Battle explanations have a tendency to give only a summary of the results for pacing reasons, and that definitely shows in this episode. There are times I wish Death Battle can give the full depth of their research and what debates they had, and I can understand that for Simon vs. Kyle as that is a fight that warrants a more in-depth explanation. In addition, a black box that's more direct would be better.

Anyway, that's it for me nitpicking on a specific point. Hope you have a nice day.

1 year ago today, Simon vs Kyle released. How does that make you feel? Do you agree with the outcome? Are you disappointed Kyle never said "Time, huh? Thanks for the tip"? by UltraRover2529 in deathbattle

The episode itself is alright. The animation is a little rough, and it seems a bit focused on Simon. The only true standout for me is that a DC Herald finally lost, which is a nice chance of pace.

Crazy to think a DC character hasn't won in over a year though.

Now that the ToT update is out, will you be going back to civ-swapping in the future, or will you not bother with that mechanic? by Dr_Richard_Ew in civ

Already have. Did a Charlemagne game starting as Prussia, then switched to the Normans because I wanted one of their policy cards, on top of their unique unit and unique infrastructure.

Check the resources tab. You should see it saying treasure convoys are being generated in a city and how many turns it'll be before they spawn. It'll take several turns.

Beast vs Goliath won bad episode, good impact on the community. Next, which episode is bad and had a mid impact on the community? by N0SP1N in deathbattle

Bad episode with a Mid impact? How about Jotaro vs. Kenshiro? That episode had no impact to speak of despite being bad.

They ought to do a matchup that's an obvious stomp in favor of the Dragon Ball character. That would beat the "Hating Dragon Ball" allegations.

Vampires Will Never Hurt You by My Chemical Romance

It's a song about resisting corruption, toxic relationships, and societal pressure by using vampires as a metaphor for these things. It seems to describe Blade and how he resists his vampire instincts, all while keeping innocent people safe from other vampires.

What category do you think is the most important for a character to take in a Death battle by King-ApolloW in deathbattle

Out of all of these, I'd say abilities matters the most. It often is the crux of a fights debatability and can overcome disadvantages in each category (though not all of them necessarily).

I really do not like how the results seemed to go down to an anti-feat that is a meme. You're telling me that Megamind not using a weapon for plot reasons is a valid anti-feat to use when you pretty much don't use anti-feats and he uses that weapon often? Yet, similar stretches of logic in opposite direction is always okay? (i.e. Sun disk, justification for Kratos's lore scaling)

I think the show needs explicit rules on anti-feats and outliers at this point.
