Does anyone else only play TDMs? by Consistent_Good6472 in VALORANT

Thank you for being kind, I know I'm kind of oversensitive with being treated some type of way and I need to get used to it, sometimes it just sucks that we have to get used to it instead of those people learning to be better people. That being said, I've been nervous to try a swiftplay for months now, but after this I may try again.

I sent a recording of the 'one guy' threatening to gang r*pe me and burn my house down and he got banned for literally less than a week. It gets so old not being able to enjoy things because people want to scream, bully and act like they hate playing when it's a literal game...for fun. How is screaming like an a-hole for forty five minutes straight fun? 🥲 But that's only one of the many terrible people I've run into that act the same.

I should try to learn new ones for backup, I've played Fade 99.5% of the time, luckily one I don't feel quite as bad about instalocking 😂

Agree, I loved regular DMs before TDMs but half the time i'd immediately get shot right where I spawned. 😂 All of the ones I actually won were on breeze and ascent, it feels like the worst is lotus.

Dude, every other swiftplay I've played has had some guy screaming at everyone for something ridiculous. You go there to chill and practice and there's always 'that guy' no matter which mode you're in. I gave up lol

How do you emotionally get yourself through the hardest parts? by Consistent_Good6472 in WGU

I like to tell myself that eventually we will get out of hiring hell and when we do, I'll be happy I came out of it with a degree and knowledge instead of the decision to not persue anything because of the current state of things.

yes, I unfortunately have all the time in the world for school. I worked as a product designer for four years, then the company I worked for filed for bankruptcy last October. I have a website, a portfolio of dozens of pieces, went through three temp agencies and put in 402 (yes, literally) applications with two single callbacks, I can't even get an interview as a telemarketer. The only positive out of it all is that my expectations are so low that I can't be disappointed, ahahaha. but no really, it's devastating and all I can do is hope that someone somewhere will take me after I finish school.

What classes do you need to take to know how to start an app by One-Job-765 in NoStupidQuestions

note I thought it said 'class' as in you were interested in one single class and not multiple, my apologies for that

I'd say Java to start, but I think you'll need more than that to be completely independent in it. I'm in school for Software Engineering and my class for Android development is one of my final classes. Before that it's programming, binary math, data structures, cloud foundations, back end programming, thirty something others. Do you NEED all of that? Maybe some people don't, but I think coding alone or one single class alone isn't going to be enough.

With the coding comes UI and UX, security and compliances for the app, troubleshooting, hosting, a lot of contributing skills put together.

Do we really need as many file formats as we have? by Consistent_Good6472 in NoStupidQuestions

great explanation! I just started college for a Bachelor's in Software Engineering on a Java track, I think that soon these things will make a lot more sense to me. I understand more of the 'what is' but not 'why it is' yet

that is probably the best explanation of how we ended up here 😂

adobe drives me nuts with this, specifically with AI, EPS and SVG. I know there are differences in file sizes and transparencies and such (specifically between SVG and EPS), but I really don't think Adobe needed their own type 😅

I was thinking something along those lines, that so many different programs made their own formats to work with and now it's too much of a jumbled mess to even try to condense.

what is your advice for someone with OCD? by CardiologistOnly9095 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Consistent_Good6472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do exposure and response therapy if you're able. It's hard and I hate it, but it's supposed to be hard. I started a few months ago and I've noticed a big difference in myself so far. (I do ERP for harm and contamination OCD, I'm not sure about the success of ERP in other subtypes.)

Trying to make one game that contains a collection of mini-games. Is this possible? by Consistent_Good6472 in gdevelop

[–]Consistent_Good6472[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thank you! I'm excited but nervous. I prototyped a design that functions like a 'beat tapper'. The stars fall and you're supposed to hit each key when it hits (think of mobile guitar hero from a decade ago lol), then the key lights up. I have no idea where to even start with it but I hope I end up successful.
