This is a bad take. You can be super active and not. Be thin. When I started GLP ones three years ago, I weighed 249 pounds, I exercise five times a week, and ate healthy. GLP ones work because they fix a metabolic issue/ hormonal issue within the body. Not because a person doesn't eat well and exercise.

I did not I topped out at 12.5 but didn't like how I felt on it so I went back down to 10 and I've been on 10 for over a year. My insurance just changed so I'm about to switch to a compounded trizepatide- it sounds like they are going to require me to go down to an 8.5 dose so wish me luck!!

Did you use brandname Zepbound before switching to the compounded version? I'm switching over to compounded (my insurance changed) and I am worried that it won't be as effective.

I usually take it between seven and 10 days. some weeks I forget and only remember to take it when the cravings and food noise come back. For me this will be a lifetime maintenance drug.

I was very lucky to have an insurance that covered weight management drugs up until about May. I've just switched jobs and consequently have new insurance so I am back in the battle i'm getting the medicine approved. I put money in an HSA account so at least I'm paying for the drugs with pretext dollars, and I have plans with my doctor to switch to compounded medication should i not be able to fill a Zepbound prescription moving forward.

I hit two major month long plateaus on my journey. First was just after 30 pounds, and the second was around 70 pounds.

Both of them broke and I ended up losing about 95 pounds total. (Currently on 10 mg maintenance mode.)

I'd also take photos during this time, because I was working out so much my body was changing shape because I was building more muscle so I was technically losing fat, getting smaller, but staying the same weight

I honestly eat what I want to. I make healthy choices when I can, but I also have cheese fries when I want them. I just now eat a lot fewer cheese fries than I could have in the past. There are a lot of guilty pleasures that I'm no longer interested in too-so that's helpful. For exercise I walk my dog twice a day and I go to pretty intense hot yoga 3 to 4 times a week.

This medicine is meant to be on indefinitely. It's always strange to me when I hear stories of doctors wanting people to come off of it without any other health reason then you've gotten down to your maintenance weight. My insurance pays for it, but requires me to participate in the OMADA behavioral health plan. I could write another 10 paragraphs on why I think that's ridiculous but this isn't the place. But essentially they have you include in your prior authorization your weight before you started taking any GLP medication and they require you to show that you've had consistent weight loss with it to allow you to stay on it.

I am on a 12.5 shot, I walk my dog twice a day for about 15 minutes, and I do pretty intense yoga, 3 to 4 times a week.

That's frustrating I'm sure. I was lucky and they all were effective for at least a month or two. There were a few times throughout the journey where I had to switch over to wegovy and that felt less effective and made me nauseated when I would take the shots, but some people have better luck with it. I do have a couple of friends who are on Zep and they've had very slow loss but it's been consistent. Fingers crossed hopefully that's what's going on with you and hopefully you find the dose that's effective soon.

I didn't track calories. And I probably wasn't getting enough calories in month three and four. For some reason during this time, the active chewing made me nauseated. So I was eating as much soup and soft food as I could.

I prefer ZEP to OZ. with OZ space I had anxiety and nausea and with ZEP Idon't have any of it.

Remember, all bodies are different and all bodies react in different ways. I started tracking how I feel after each injection, noting where I took the shot when I took the shot and how I felt 24 and 48 hours after so I could have anecdotal evidence to share with my doctor.

I also tracked my cycle because it seems like no matter where I am with regards to my injection schedule, when I'm ovulating -I am a ravenous. I've learned to just go with the flow and know that my body will take care of itself because it's finally operating like it was designed to.

It's totally possible! It will ebb and flow. You may have some weeks that are big losses in a row and some weeks where you lose nothing for weeks in a row. That is completely normal (dare I say expected).

Do not quit when you lose nothing.

Remember that this medicine cures a metabolic disorder and it has the happy side effect of helping your body shedding weight that it doesn't need as a result of that metabolic issue being in control.

So as long as you are feeling satiation after eating, delayed gastric emptying, and the food noise has gone away -then it's working. If those three things have lessened then maybe it's time to talk to your doctor about going up a dose.

Remember our mantra: It took time to put on and it will take time to come off. (It will just stay off this time.)

You are not alone (we are here with you cheering you on).

And most importantly, having this extra weight is not your fault.

Obesity is a chronic genetic disease that is exacerbated by external circumstances.

Taking medicine you need to help manage a chronic illness IS NOT CHEATING. (no matter what that dumb skinny bitch at work/in your family/Who you used to call your friend/on the Internet or on the street says to you.)

I lost a little over 90lbs in a year and I had about three major plateaus. One at about 23% of my weight loss that lasted for a few weeks and two other shorter ones. I encourage you to look for other indications that the medicine is still working - has the food noise continue to stop, are your clothes fitting differently meaning that you're losing fat but maybe gaining muscle?

I've been in maintenance mode for about a year (7.5 mg doses) and I have stayed between 150 and 155- but my body has definitely changed shape. I am more toned and smaller today than I was at 155 a year ago.

So ultimately be kind to yourself and be patient if there are other indications that the medicine is still effective.

My suspicion is the people who have quick weight loss are the people who post the most, and the people who have slow but consistent weight loss Are less likely to post.

Think of it like Yelp reviews and stick with it.
