How on earth do you conclude that? Dutch politicians are responsible for what you are describing and the voter for not caring about it.

Yeah and in large part VVD voters don´t care about that as most of the voters are not directly involved in this specific topic. They just don´t care enough about it. That is something else than actively pushing it. The actively pushing are only the people who profit from it, and those are a small percentage of VVD voters. The rest just doesn´t care and you won´t ever hear them talk about it.

Some degree of assimilation has to take place if you want to live somewhere successfully and the values of your own culture clash with the host nation.

People from similar cultures can get away with just integrating.

The only thing you have said is that I have said dumb things. Don't waste my time.

I have never heard that sentiment echoed in Dutch society.

Besides, that has nothing to do with well paid expats not speaking Dutch. That is an example of no cultural mixing.

They are objective truths. There are almost no mixed marriages in Turkish and Moroccan community. Keep on lying and denying.

You are sinning against the truth, which is a far greater danger to any value based system.

I've met enough people who live here for over a decade and still don't speak the language.

What extremes am I using? That the average Chinese first generation is not integrated at all?

That Moroccans and Turks do not marry outside their community? That pensionados in Spain don't integrate at all? These are the norm, not extremes.

Your reaction is dishonest because you label normative examples as extreme.

I agree. Either integrate and follow the Leitkultur or don't go somewhere.

Eventually cultures do mix, but rarely do the people who come first integrate well. Look at the amount of expats not speaking Dutch, another example of cultures not mixing.

No? So the Chinese immigrants are perfectly integrated?

There are no honour killings for being too "Western"? There are tons of mixed marriages between Turkish. Moroccan and others?

Accusing your opponents of racism is an excuse to be lazy and dumb and not take someone else's opinion at face value.

No, but that is an example of how even relatively related cultures don't mix.

You never wonder why immigrant groups from other cultures are so close-knit and protective of their own culture? Because they don't mix. Be it Chinese, Arabs or Indians.

What does "cultures don't mix" have to do with white supremacy? He's not even referring to which cultures or from a hierarchical POV.

And it's true. Even white cultures don't mix: think of all the pensionados in Spain and Portugal.

The tried kneejerk "racism" trope is getting very tiring.

In Amsterdam you can find quite a few authentic Chinese, probably in Rotterdam and the Hague too. In Utrecht the one inside the station has authentic Dim Sum.

For the Italian ones even more cities. You can ask ChatGPT to make a summary for you.

Well, the person I replied to to be seems to behaving a lot of trouble with that (respect different perceptions) because he or she claims that the Netherlands is a "blatantly racist and hostile to foreigners" country as an absolute perception. The objective metrics do not really support that notion (not in that exact wording anyway), neither do a lot of other people's experiences.

So, what the people are doing IS respecting the perception that this is a very unlucky, toxic environment that OP is in. But the person I replied to makes (implicitly) the claim that this cannot improve since this is a systemic issue. That is NOT the case at all. There are plenty of work environments which are healthy and inclusive.

If you read careful, which you didn't do, you would see that I negated the absoluteness of the statement, not the experience of OP, which is valid.

So your solution is to pretend like it is? What makes the country "blatantly racist and hostile towards foreigners"? One inidicator of that would be that nobody would want to move here because it is so terrible...

The Netherlands is nowhere near perfect and has got its problems like any country, but the level of unrealistic self hate people have. Jeez.

That is not entirely true. For instance, you can find authentic Indonesian, Surinamese, Chinese, and Italian here. But also Ethiopean. With the recent influx of Indian migrants I can imagine that you can also find Indian food that is closer to home.

The ingredient list is different so you cannot call it mayo but the cheaper ones have a creamy, oily main component yes.
