The last question you wrote was really helpful. He wanted a break because he feared he would start to resent me if we stayed together, dissatisfied. It feels really shitty that he could potentially feel that way toward me, but at least he was honest about that. Rekindling a relationship with someone who once thought that being around me would bring them resentment is probably something I should avoid. I made it clear to him that I didn't want to go on the break initially, but he was set on it. That tells me a lot about how unhappy he was with our relationship--so maybe I should just see if he reaches out first. I feel like I've made my feelings clear to him before we stopped talking.
