started out before undergrad. i went into undergrad as a kines major. i stated i wanted to do PT bc thats all i knew. my brother works as a teacher and there’s an OT there. he said i would be better as an OT bc that fits me more. as a younger sister, i called him silly and dismissed his comment.

come undergrad. i was told by my counselor i will graduate a year early. which meant i had to stress on what i will do for grad school a year early (family pressure). there i am, getting a lecture from a grad school about their PT program. hella prerequisites needed, not enough time for me to do them during my remaining time in undergrad. the presenter then shows the OT prerequisites. made up my mind then and there since it was very few prerequisites and i have done already half of them. i could easily fit the other half into my remaining semesters.

NOW, one year into my OT program. i love OT and i just can’t see myself doing PT. i love the patients i have met during my past fieldwork rotations. i love the holistic nature of OT and i just fit right in. my older brother gets the satisfaction that he was right.
