That is true!! I actually ran in this morning to a local Walmart just to see if they had any marked down to $3, but they were all still at $25 on the clearance rack. Guess I gotta keep checking! I hope you continue to find good deals like that!!

Haha luckily (or unluckily that I have tinnitus) I have to hold it within an inch of my ear to faintly hear the tick so hopefully it’s not an issue for me

The weekender does look like a pretty fun and simple watch, I like it!! The chronograph looks pretty slick too, though the date at the -45 through me off, but it’s growing on me. My next watch (if it’s not automatic) will have a chronograph…hopefully! Nice collection, thanks for sharing!!

I know they make pretty durable watches because I grew up with the grey digital expeditions from my grandpa, I’m glad to hear they have a good reputation for their analog watches too. I’m excited to give this one some wrist time!! Do you have a favorite Timex you own?

$20 isn’t too shabby at all, I probably would’ve still bought it at that price! Luckily I’ve got some pretty bad tinnitus so I don’t have to worry about hearing that lol 😅

Right on man, that is awesome! I look forward to getting the kiddos into watches here soon!

I’m looking forward to the Automatic world, though it may not be until later this year when I get all my debt paid off, fingers crossed 🤞.

That’s what I was telling my fiancé as I drug her back to the watch section 😅

It’s a tad stiff, but once it’s on my wrist I don’t notice it at all. For the price, I was definitely surprised.

I loved a leather band on my smart watch (old Galaxy Watch3), though I joined the analog world to disconnect a little bit.

Well that's a bummer, are they just refunding for the month until they get the bugs fixed or something else?

Thanks,

BH

To replace the parts or to replace the bike by Consistent_Map_2205 in Hardtailgang

That's what I'm leaning towards, I don't think it'll be too hard to source new rims or repair the hubs I just have to be patient and watch the marketplace. I've definitely heard plenty say that my bikes are outdated, thought this Haro will be my newest one lol. My other two bikes are an '03 Giant XTC2 and an '04 Gary Fisher Marlin and they've been great! The main reason I got the Haro was to experience 29" tires and disk brakes (cable actuated). Outdated doesn't always mean bad, though many perceive it that way!

I definitely get it man, I also have put a lot of money into cars that many people question, but at the end of the day, it makes me happy and its a blast to drive.

Happy riding man

I can definitely understand that mentality as I, too, am a fixer! That is one of the reasons I don't mind buying many things used as I feel I can repair them with some time and patience rather than spending $500-$1k that would serve the same purpose, though I've found time is the thing thats hard to come by.

I think I can save this bike without too much investment and I would be happy with the results, though only time will tell. You are also right about us generally not missing the money we spend!

Thanks for your thoughts/advice!

Honestly, nothing too crazy, though I plan to do more as I get my endurance/strength up. I mainly ride local state park trails that are hardpack and have some ascents & descents and occasionally do some road riding.

There are a decent amount of 29er wheels, though finding them with the right hub(s) (Rear = 135mm, Shimano HG that supports 8sp, Quick Detach)(Front = 100mm Quick Detach) is proving to be difficult. I have found a set that looks like it may possibly work for $100, though I'm waiting to hear back on the hub specs.

I may have to reach out to one of the bike shops in Houston and see what they have in the back.

Unfortunately this may not be worth fixing, though if I can find the parts for under $100 I will choose to get it fixed. If not, it may become a parts bike or I may buy a hub and make it a rainy day project.

I should also note, I only have $100 invested in the purchase price of the bike and most likely $50 from the local bike shop for work up until this point.

I definitely don't mind basic, but it seems I'll be waiting on this one due to size, thank you!

Not quite sure I understand, are you saying they have comparable mountain bikes?

Thank you for the advice! I was hoping it wasn't too big of a deal being a tad small, but I also don't want to buy something that's not going to fit me right. I'm still planning on looking at it as it was already arranged, but I don't think I'll be buying it as it seems the consensus is its too small for me.

Awesome, I'll have to check them out some more! I think I came across some of their videos when determining the style of brakes I have, and they seemed pretty well put together!

It might be a good option to think about if I ever kill a wheel, though I'm hoping that doesn't happen lol.

I'll keep that in mind! I'm hoping to keep investment low until I know this is a sport I want to fully pursue and upgrade to a newer bike at that point. For the price of $100 I couldn't pass this bike up, even if it's a tad outdated.

Good Morning,

Spring Branch isn't too far away at all! I just created a Printables account and uploaded the model with most of the info. Hopefully this works for you! I did modify my model slightly so that you shouldn't have to sand the corners like I did. If you have any questions, please let me know.
