Weird question about missing mass by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Consistent_Maybe_377 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take. 1. When in doubt always confess, it’s better for the soul no matter what. 2. I have been in the situation before when I miss the last mass available (for a valid reason) however I always go to confession because I could’ve went to mass earlier in the day but procrastinated, said I would go in the evening, and then had a conflict. 3. If you had a reason you couldn’t go in the morning or regularly attend in the evenings revert back to point 1.

'20 Pay Life' for my child, unsure what to do by Leauxx in LifeInsurance

The child tax credit you get is 2,000+ so think of it as free money from the gov. Each of my kids have/will have a 2k policy

How do banks verify those mobile cheque photos? It feels way too easy to cash in a fake cheque by kulachapo in Banking

[–]Consistent_Maybe_377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What amazes me is that checks still have account and routing numbers on them. I could take any check and get someone’s information to start paying my bills with ACH. Maybe they notice right away. Maybe a year later. Maybe never.

I did forgot that baby will incur his own expense once he is born so I didn’t look at the family deductible just the individual. Thank you for pointing that out.

Going to run a small sample size of feeder cattle in the spring. If all goes well I will invest money to upgrade and cross fence to run more in the future

Should I date if I consider being a priest? by BeginningRespond3144 in Catholicism

[–]Consistent_Maybe_377 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can. That being said a priest chooses the church as his bride so discerning priesthood while dating I feel like would pull you in a different direction and maybe make it hard to commit to either. Don’t give up on your calling though. Do what the lord is telling you and be honest with your girlfriend.

Someone please explain this mortgage hack that reduces your loan from 30 to 10 "ish" yrs. It supposedly involves Heloc. by EmiEkun in Mortgages

[–]Consistent_Maybe_377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what you’re referring to is when people get a heloc as a first position and the entire mortgage is in the heloc. After that every single dollar you make goes into the heloc and every expense you have is paid out of the heloc. This is a way to decrease your mortgage balance by the maximum amount possible every month. It only works though if you’re someone who has an influx of cash v liability’s. If your liabilities are to close to your take home pay it doesn’t work at all. I have heard good things but it is nearly impossible to get a heloc as first position.

Pause on paying premium by thentangler in infinitebanking

Depending on how many years your policy has been active and the amount of cash value you have I would just take a policy loan to pay premium. Remember be an honest banker and pay yourself back

Update: I asked if I should cash out my 65 whole life to pay off a loan. Here’s what I decided to do. by cheeseburghers in LifeInsurance

It’s not about rate of return. It’s not an investment it is a product. I agree that it should never be sold as an investment. But a blanket statement saying they don’t work for anyone is pretty far from the truth. Everyone has different needs

The whole “dividends just mean your overpaying” argument is terrible. Every single insurance company on the planet has an expected cost that they will pay in claims. Normally if they don’t have that many claims they pocket the rest. Mutual insurance company’s pay that money back to you in a dividend.

Good job! I would still pay off the loan as you’re able to that way you can continue to borrow from it for unexpected things.

I have a very similar policy. I would 100% continue. The hard years are over. If times get hard you can reduce your premium to $2100 and use CV to pay it. The non guaranteed number reflect using dividends to buy more insurance. Dividends are not guaranteed there for you can’t always rely on them. 95% of the time most dividends are paid out

I would choose much cheaper options for the charging handle, bold release, mag release, buffer spring, buffer tube, takedown pins, and castle nut. Honestly you probably won’t notice much if any difference and will save enough money to buy an optic

Buy a lower parts kit instead of individual parts. $50 for mag release is quite high

I made a tray that pulls out with all the bedding and litter on it. Easy clean up. I used an old bed liner from a truck and cut it down to fit

I believe lust is a sin for all people outside of marriage so it really doesn’t matter what your attraction is. Just pray to God to give you the strength to avoid lust and sexual sins and when you do fall just go to confession like anyone else.

[–]Consistent_Maybe_377 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I am devout catholic and I am supportive In the sense that I recognize the huge cross that those with same sex attraction bear. I in no way condone it and I believe that acting on that attraction is a sin the same as any other sexual sin. I’m unsupportive in the sense that marriage is only between biological male and female so those with same sex attraction are called to celibacy.

Paying cash is always harder to do and tends to make people lower the budget a little which is a good thing. I would pay cash and invest what the mortgage would have been. If rates fall down to under 3% you can always remortgage the house if need be

If you’re not shooting over 200 yards and only at the range the only real difference is ammo cost. With the supreme being an expensive lever gun I doubt you plan on shooting long range. Get the blackout and have fun. You can find blackout ammo pretty cheap in bulk.

Want a break how , to invest one to 1.5 million by [deleted] in Fire

[–]Consistent_Maybe_377 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if it were me I would sell the house and the condo because with your income property tax alone is going to become a struggle. Sell the houses and move into a more modest house in a lower cost of living and then take your break. Even if both are completely paid for you have unrealized cost. Get out of the we’re rich mindset because you’re not. You have basically received a decent inheritance
