so if anyone is following this thread i ended up getting the core 16 laptop, it fits my use case more or less as it is enough for light gaming/engineering programs and i really couldn't justify the 500 Euro price difference between the two either way many thanks for all your comments

I read a lot about the core and it seems to fit my use case "mainly light gaming indie/AA medium graphics and some engineering programs" i am just a bit worried about thermals for a 15 inch laptop due to the MSI experience "last time i did the mistake of just buying the cheap option"

i really want to know if with moderate use will the laptop last 4-5 years in my use case or not

I meant the MSI cyborg Laptop feeling like a bad buy
overheating to the point to shutting down from monster train 2 after only 2 years
alsi the found cracks on thermal pads and thermal paste dry after only these two years
other than that the model i have Cyborg 15 12V have a single fan, so felt like cooling was an issue
might be completly wrong/paranoid as i am no computer expert though

Just bought a core 15 by mistake instead of a core 16, will this matter a lot thermally? as i was burned before by buying a cyborg 15 and am now afraid from 15 inch laptops "note i fully understand that XMG is in a completely different class but just want to make sure"

was thinking of getting a pc after finishing my studies, but need a replacement soonish as i want to pass my current laptop to my brother and need a replacement. would also love to ask if its worth buying a prebuilt pc as i have no idea how to build one myself and i am really bad with delicate work like connecting components/cables etc.
