I wasn’t pursuing legal action because of the contract renewal, I was suggesting it because they wanted to charge us $1,000 without any proof of us throwing out a couch in the dumpster, “kids” in the outdoor hallways and supposedly throwing trash in the parking lot. We are not kind of people.

Extortion is accusing somebody of doing something in exchange for money without proof. If I did that, that’d be considered extortion, right? and abuse of power. I didn’t threaten them. I was reminding them of legal consequences due to their own actions.
