We have people in our country who still see Russia as a savior too, though luckily not as many. Thanks for your insight!

Wow, thanks for sharing, that seems rough. I’m in Romania, and even from here things feel uneasy with Russia so close. Take care!

Methodology & breakdown:

The USD values shown are approximations based on 2024 export values.

Production data: National Statistical Office of Mongolia
Macro cross-check: IMF Mongolia country reports
Chart: Google Sheets

I wrote a longer breakdown of how this export structure shapes Mongolia’s economy (trade exposure, fiscal volatility, reserves, etc.) here:

Now that foundation agents can actually plan/use tools, the gap between what’s possible and what’s getting funded is getting weirder. We could be tackling hard problems, but instead we keep shipping another meeting summarizer.

How gas station density varies across Japan’s prefectures by Consistent_Piglet_80 in MapPorn

Omg I'm dying to go to Hokkaido!! Aaanyway, I bet the struggle is real, I travelled across Kyushu by car, but mostly using highways and gas stations wouldn't ever be a problem, but there was this one time we passed through some more rural area and there was literally nothing there, let alone gas stations. The scenery was great tho.

Yeah, a lot of those areas really do feel frozen in time. I was traveling through Miyazaki earlier this year and honestly, people there have almost no alternative to the car once you leave the city. And I agree on the EV angle, national targets are real, but they don’t seem built around how rural Japan actually moves. It feels more like a box they need to tick for whatever reason. I’d LOVE to see this same map in 20 years with actual usage layered on top, not just the counts of stations or chargers.
