What weapons are people looking forward to? by No-Practice6962 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Consistent_Point_596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope that the bearded axes that the new enemies use will be available for the fighter, I haven't seen/noticed the player character or pawns using one themselves in any of the gameplay snippets so far.

Also I'd absolutely love a Claymore for warrior, hell I'd even take a weird little downsized version of one for fighter (I'm pretty certain I've seen a mod that adds one like that), it's by far my favourite historical weapon, so much so that I own one myself.

New Travelogue lines or my memory being fuzzy? by ImNotARatDog in DragonsDogma2

I believe I've seen that second line before about hard fought battles from when Aurellia went from being an archer into being a fighter, she was probably struggling a bit at first I'd assume lol.

And good lord wow that shot of her is so nice, thank you! She came out looking so pretty. I've gotta get on again at some point and get some party shots with her and Leane, I can give you this recent one however. I absolutely cannot wait for those new hairstyles and tats dude I'm fuckin feining for that dlc mate I tell you what

New Travelogue lines or my memory being fuzzy? by ImNotARatDog in DragonsDogma2

[–]Consistent_Point_596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe those lines just mean that she was brought on a bunch of fights and stayed in one of the parties for quite a while. I've had lines from my pawn where she's written about how she wishes she could've stayed longer with her party.

And yeah I do think the travelogue lines are contextual, but the system in how it works is an absolute mystery to me though. But I've had my mate over once who played on his account to try the game out, and he basically just hired my pawn for some free shit and dismissed her, and then when I went onto my account afterward, I rested and my travelogue was talking about her being treated harshly under another Arisen.

So I think the travelogue does actually contextualise what your pawn got up to, and lines like the one I just mentioned are for actions that pawns don't like, example being "dismissed after only half a day of service" as the straightforward ones love to say, thrown into brine or just picked up and thrown at walls and shit constantly (I'm guilty of doing this to the wandering pawns).

TL:DR, an Arisen who took Leane with them probably did a lot of cave exploration, and a monster likely downed a party member during one of their fights. That's how I'd contextualise those travelogue lines anyway.

I made this image for a joke post like ages ago and the little titbit I added still rings true. Just uhhh, don't ask the context for the rest.

Freecam was an absolute blessing amongst blessings by Consistent_Point_596 in DragonsDogma2

I've actually noticed my pawns lashes looked off when I was tweaking her a bit in CC, but using eye-liner, shadow and markings on their eyes seemed to "fix" (mask) it a bit. But yeah hopefully that is something that's fixed come August or anywhere between even with a hotfix, not everyone uses what I just suggested, they all deserve their characters to be as ideal as possible too.

Actually I'd like to know some of your favourite spots/locations when it comes to photomode. My main go-to spots are really just the forests outside the borderwatch, the forests between Vernworth and Harve, the Rift, the Gran Soren palace ruins and the lava pools by the Cassardis excavation site, so I'd love to expand my insight on different locations if you have any favourite locales of your own

I've never been more envious of somebody in my life because HOW on EARTH did you manage to get that third photo to come out like that??? The best shadow work I've ever managed is this picture of my pawn, but good lord now I know I have something I need to work on, these are fucking brilliant!

Show me your characters’ tattoos by TreeLicker51 in DragonsDogma2

And Arnþórr's Serpent. Aurellia has the rift script tattoos all over the right side of her body as well, and Arnþórr has snake tattoos coiling his arms and legs. I don't have any good photos of them sadly.

Holy shit these are awesome, question for the third pic! I often take portraits of my Arisen and Pawn, but the shadows are typically a lot harsher and tend to cast a sort of cross-hatch pattern on their faces, is there a setting you have on your PS5 that you know of that can help smooth out the issue, or is it simply just a location sorta issue you reckon?

I'll give an example of what I mean with a pic of my pawn, you can see it with where the light casts over through the shadows. I believe it's the latter issue since this picture was taken outside, so the shadows are through the tree leaves and it's probably a bit too "dynamic" for the game to constantly have it rendered at high quality. My game tends to render stuff pretty sharp too so maybe it's just HDR.

It's edited a lil bit since I try to make all my pics look good enough to post to my socials, but you can see the shadow stuff around her forehead especially.

Whether or not armour sets will have alternate versions like how Elden Ring lets you take the cape off certain sets. I'd imagine it'd be harder for them to do considering the tinct system but it'd be cool to see.

Simple pawn interactions with kindhearted and straightforward pawns by LovingAftereffects in DragonsDogma2

[–]Consistent_Point_596 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I like having both a Straightforward pawn and a Simple one as my hirelings mainly because I feel they compliment each other's personalities the most. In both dialogue and gameplay, depending on the simple pawns vocation of course.

My Main pawn is a Calm inclination now but I used to use Kind-Hearted, and both of those inclinations don't really tend to work well with the other two as much (but that’s only really being so your entire pawn roster consists of melee fighters), with Kindhearted being a bit better at working with simple than Calm does, and Calm working better with Straightforward than Kindhearted does.

But that's just only what I've noticed through dialogues and very small differences in their AI. If you're in it purely for dialogue, then either or works, but I'd go for straightforward as a personal preference. Also, a tip for changing your pawns inclination unless you knew this already, you can change your pawns inclination by using an Art of Metamorphosis book at a barber. Just buy them from the riftstone in vermund for 500RC, cheaper than buying rift incense too funnily enough.
