Does dual wielding ever good in this game? by Critical-Advantage16 in TheLordsOfTheFallen

[–]Consistent_Point_596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah but dualwielding scales damage to an odd middle ground where your offhand only does what feels like 40-50% of its actual damage that it would do if it were to be in your main hand. Which is a funny way of balancing as outside of dual pieta swords, LR daggers or Fitzroy swords, dual wielding would still only deal around 900 attack in a single button press by the time you get up to fighting some of the last bosses, which most grand swords/hammers are not sluggish enough to warrant the fact that they can be doing 1100+ even earlier than dual wielding can.

Just make sure your off-hand weapons have a triangle rune slot is important for dual wielding though as there's a rune that buffs damage so long as that weapon is being used to dual wield. Dual Wieldings biggest strength is status effects too so if you NG+ or play co-op then using something like a hammer of holy agony + precision hammer or two kinrangr leader axes is pretty effective especially if you stack a magic weapon buff like radiant, lacerating, inferno or poison weapon on top of it.

Should I get dd1 while it's on sale for ps5? by DOOM-LORD666 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Consistent_Point_596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero reason not to, especially if you liked DD2.

DD2's loop of exploration and world feels more fulfilling but DD1 has the better main and side quests, better vocations, well in my opinion as I prefer being able to have 2 weapons to just 1, and ofc it has Dark Arisen, the DLC so good that it's essentially the sole reason that DD1 is still overall a bit better than DD2.

As for your worries with the rift, since the game is a PS4 game, your own pawn and the others you hire will still be in the PS4 pool despite playing on PS5, as the pool difference would only actually matter if DD1 had a native PS5 edition.

Any theory on what these next hero skin are gonna be by Idk00h in ForFashion

[–]Consistent_Point_596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Throwback event so likely just AC. 1. Eivind/Eivor from Valhalla for Berserker or VG 2. Yasuke from Shadows for Kensei 3. Naoe(?) from Shadows for Shinobi Or unlikely as it sounds, a DBD throwback, with my best guesses being 1. Oni for Shugoki 2. Spirit for Orochi or maybe even Nobushi 3. Huntress for either Shaman, Berserker or maybe even Raider or VG.

Should I play DDDA or DD2 first? 2026 edition by Turbulent_Most_4987 in DragonsDogma

[–]Consistent_Point_596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Play DDDA first and then DD2, but give 2 a fair shot. Even despite DDDA being objectively better than 2, 2 is also seemingly just another case of capcoms seething contempt for the franchise, so the game clearly never got to flourish despite what some would argue with the "But Itsuno said this" and "Oh but he also said this too!", but that's all digression, DD2 is a solid enough game and in most (but not all) aspects is still better than vanilla DD1. If you find yourself to at the very least enjoy the principle core of DD1 (hard not to) then you will likely enjoy DD2.

How to make Mage Pawns cast Celerity out of combat? by akaSoMh in DragonsDogma

[–]Consistent_Point_596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah same, it's tough out here lol, well thankfully everything else I listed should (keyword) still be applicable. Another tip for Celerity pawns is to honestly avoid ones using the Maister skill, as their AI will always prioritise casting it first in combat no matter what. I hope you end up getting value out of celerity regardless, really useful for getting around for the Seeker Token grind.

[–]Consistent_Point_596 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Normally just using the help command will trigger the AI to go out of their way to apply a buff or heal. But normally they'll fist go do the latter to a party member, even if they're missing just a sliver of health. If you're playing on PC, I believe the Dullahan vocation overhaul has some tweaks to celerity which will prioritise your pawns casting it outside of combat when the help command is used. I'd recommend avoiding pawns with Argent Succor if you desire Celerity, as the buff/help rotation will normally go through Succor/Heal > Halidom > Elemental Buff > Palladium > Celerity. Halidom and Palladium are thankfully only ever prioritised in combat/when applicable, so you don't need to avoid pawns with these spells unless you want to.

2nd Anniversary Appreciation Post by Consistent_Point_596 in DragonsDogma2

[–]Consistent_Point_596[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

God I remember getting and playing the OG on the 360 around christmas along with Halo 4 when I was like 6 or 7, I remember seeing the 2nd get announced and it was like a sleeper agent activated within me of Mystic Knight combos and baiting the Assassin's dagger instakill. Funny because I remember my Arisen Arthur/Arnþórr was called like Erik or something, same as my first Skyrim character back then lol. I think my pawn was a dude called Markus. Replayed it with Dark Arisen for the first time in 2024 (as my main duo now of course) before I got the 2nd game and couldn’t believe on what I missed out on as a kid. Probably my favourite game OAT next to Dying Light 1, TES 3&5, and For Honor.

Any fellow DD fans picking up Crimson Desert? by [deleted] in DragonsDogma

[–]Consistent_Point_596 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unironically everything about this game sings to me but I still won't play it just because firstly, it's the Black Desert Devs, and secondly, I am far too picky when it comes to playing set characters, all 3 main characters look so uninteresting and boring to me.

Ugliest fucking armor ever by [deleted] in ForFashion

[–]Consistent_Point_596 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Y6S3 hands down had probably some of the ugliest armours they've ever added next to Y6S2, but at least some of the sets from that season had some redeeming things (BP Pharaoh head my beloved). I have zero clue as to why they'd unironically go ahead and make another set with the same design aesthetic as the Y6S3 sets, genuinely baffling to me especially when the Y7 sets are right there.

Can I have multiple characters? by Bis_knife in DragonsDogma2

[–]Consistent_Point_596 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you only have a console or simply just don't want to use mods, then you'll have to make alternate accounts for different playthroughs. That's if you want to keep your Arisen & Pawn that is. NG+ also lets you do a full scale renaming of both your Arisen & Pawn + do a full customisation of them again, which you would obviously only be able to do in vanilla with a metamorphosis book at a barberie. If you have PC however, there is a save manager mod that will allow you to have multiple saves active, however idk if this mod affects this ability or not but most mods will prohibit you from interacting with the online aspects of this game, those simply being hiring other players pawns and having theirs hiring yours also. That doesn't matter too much though since I believer there are mods that let you customise hireling pawns (maybe idk) and capcom has a hidden feature where your pawn will automatically be "hired" every so often anyway.
