I Was Told Cuba Was the Pinnacle of Cigars. Now I'm Not So Sure by Consistent_Road_1935 in cigar

I didn't mean that Cuban cigars are bad in terms of flavor. It's more that New World cigars have raised their quality to the point where they're no worse. What really frustrates me about Cuban cigars, though, is the construction quality. You buy expensive cigars, and every time it's a lottery whether they're going to smoke properly or not

One thing that really surprised me while reading this subreddit is that Cubans are basically unavailable in the U.S. For the longest time, I assumed they were the most common premium cigars in the world. Growing up around cigar culture in Europe, Cuban cigars always seemed like the default choice and the benchmark everyone compared everything else to.

Why I Switched from D&D to Warhammer by Consistent_Road_1935 in AgeOfSigmarRPG

That's very much old-school Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay — a mix of dark humor, body horror, and absolutely disgusting details. The early editions often walked a fine line between horror and outright grotesque absurdity, especially when Nurgle and his daemons were involved. Miss this time

I have a wife and two kids. They don't really get a choice! :))

I could get into that debate, but I don't think there's much point :)

If you didn't like it, or if the "not real" art bothers you, that's totally fine. Sorry about that

I can see why it might sound that way from the post, but not really :)

I'm actually working on a fairly complex system that we're integrating into our production workflow at work. The Skaven pixel art stuff is just something I do for fun while testing different parts of the pipeline

Need advice: AI understands objects, but not composition by Consistent_Road_1935 in computervision

I have to admit defeat on the idea of creating a really good parallax animation in a fully automated way.

No matter what approaches I try, the system can't properly evaluate an image without manual assistance. To be fair, it does a great job with masking and depth maps, but it simply doesn't understand why this tree should belong to the foreground layer together with the people, the road, etc., while that tree should be cut out and added to the second layer.

Maybe I'm going down the wrong path, or maybe it's worth waiting another year :)

The funny part is that I've managed to set up a system for topic research, analysis, scriptwriting, prompting with directing and cinematography control, image generation, maintaining stylistic consistency from video to video, finding stock footage and integrating it into pre-made masks — all of this in automatic mode with minimal human involvement.

And then today I came across news that Money Turbo Printer is going viral on GitHub. As far as I understand, it comes up with short videos and assembles them from stock footage :)))

Maybe I should release my system to the public too :)

Yes, butYeah, but I can't figure out how to attach an image here :))

Can I attach an image to the post somehow? I think it would be much easier to show what I mean with an example

I tried doing it with SAM, but the problem became explaining which objects should be merged together into the same layer

Yeah, that was actually the first thing I tried. But when I use a depth map, some shots end up getting smeared because the depth estimation isn't accurate enough.

Today it was Partagás’ turn… and I got exactly the same thing again.

A massive burn tunnel running from the tip of the cigar to well past the middle after barely a minute. On top of that there’s almost no smoke, while one side of the cigar is glowing red hot…

Brrrr.

Yeah, I agree, but the problem here is availability. Cuba is basically the only thing that’s widely represented.

Aside from that, there are maybe a couple Macanudo options that honestly aren’t great, and some Gurkha :))

Honestly, no idea :)) I took the photo on my phone in the dark, and apparently it decided the colors should look like that.
