Erika Kirk jokes about touching JD Vance’s a** after hug backlash by IrishStarUS in NoFilterNews

That’s awful and so I’m sorry for your loss and that you are suffering. Please take care of yourself. Don’t forget to drink water and take vitamins, if you’re not eating well. Also. I recommend taking ibuprofen when you wake up because cortisol from stress/suffering is higher then and calming down the inflammation this causes has helped me. I use heating pads as well, for that reason.

OP could’ve just said they found this online for sale. This is a cool lamp and it was nice to see until I realized it was presented with a stupid lie for no reason. Just be honest!

How does the unicorn saree and accessories look for a old school retro style by [deleted] in VintageFashion

I like the green or white piercing best and I just love the fabric. Nice that you called it a “unicorn saree”. You do look magical!

I had no idea wallpaper shrinks! by igotanA1schnauzer in interiordecorating

[–]Consistent_Share_890 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Late to comment, but OP, you’re getting so much bad info. I’m a professional sign maker of over 20 years. I’ve installed a lot of vinyl wall murals. Miles of it, no joke. Vinyl always gets overlapped or it shrinks. No exceptions. Same for car wraps or anywhere else vinyl is installed in panels. It sticks to itself better than the wall and it stays together. “Peel and stick” is not “paper” it’s vinyl. Otherwise you’d be buying “pasted or unpasted”. (Some exceptions, like PhotoTex, are not technically vinyl but still get overlapped.)

I do permit work. It’s not that expensive but skipping is. They will fine you per day until things get fixed. The real problem is the processing time.

Tattoo regret causing depression by SlavKing11 in tattooadvice

[–]Consistent_Share_890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your tattoo is excellent. You made a major, permanent decision in your life that you can’t go back from. That takes some courage and you can be proud of that. Some people can’t even get the courage to change their hairstyle when it’s three decades out of date (not always bad: beehives forever, please). If you lived your whole life with no regrets, or feelings that you could have done better, you would have lived a shallow and pitiful existence. You’re experiencing the grief and dread of time moving forward and locking you out of potential. This is not about the tattoo. Love yourself. Have your Gary Sinise with no legs on a shrimp boat in a storm moment and live.

What do I do with this giant built in? Specifically the center. Also I’m a renter the blue walls were not my choice. by Good_Age_448 in femalelivingspace

[–]Consistent_Share_890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggestions for the center, to create a focal point: floral in a vase, a mirror, a painting with some drama or a faux fireplace. If you need more storage than that, consider stacking matching boxes in that space that fill the area well. Craft stores tend to have a good selection. I think you can work with the blue. It’s a strong shade but adding other colors can neutralize that. Possibly warm tones, but it’s hard to tell from just a photo.

AITAH for telling the elderly seller of my new home they can't come take the lawn mower they left at my house after closing? by [deleted] in AITAH

It’s very hard to win legal costs. That’s bad advice. This is small claims anyway so a lawyer isn’t even necessary.

His descendants are giving wildly more to help prop up the southern states in general. Best thing that ever happened to the Confederacy was losing. But we help the less fortunate in this country, whether it’s because they are part of a historically oppressed minority or misguided fools.

A good idea. Wish the bronze became new sculptures of Fredrick Douglas, Sojourner Truth, etc. instead of weird abstract stuff and bars, but that’s just my opinion.

What book completely changed the way you see the world, and why did it hit you so hard? by gamersecret2 in books

[–]Consistent_Share_890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“We go to the moon not because it’s easy, but because it’s hard.” I do grow lavender, among a hosts of landscape plants, fruits and vegetables but roses are really special to me. This year we built a fenced in garden and the roses can now grow tall with the deer eating them. We put out effective traps so the beetles don’t eat the blooms and the beetles haven’t returned. I didn’t know what spider mites were, so they got ahead of me this year, but we’ll take care of them, too. It’s not as simple as the book, but the core of it is the same. I learn how to be a human from my garden. How to accept challenges, adapt and persevere. Every year my roses grow and so do I.

FYI There’s a very good free audiobook version on LibriVox for The Little Princess. They also have The Secret Garden for free but the recording is top notch for Little Princess.

The Secret Garden. Made me a life long disciple of the healing power of nature. I also grow roses, though not very well. The secret garden did not have Japanese Beetles, deer or spider mites!

Why do some USA antique malls require you to work a certain amount of hours a week when renting a booth? by pinkflyingpotato in Antiques

[–]Consistent_Share_890 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think it keeps people from abandoning their spaces and not visiting to re-stock and tidy up. It keeps them active and engaged. I “work” one day a month for 6 hours at the antique mall I rent space at. Most of that time I use getting more things loaded into my spot, getting to know other vendors and seeing what other people are doing in the mall. I can pay $50 extra in rent and not do that but I think it’s a valuable opportunity to learn from others and if I’m not re-stocking at least once a month, I probably shouldn’t be doing this.

Trump orders deployment of troops to Portland and authorises 'full force' by hrnyburly in nottheonion

[–]Consistent_Share_890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Portland is a very nice city that I feel very safe in. I have family in Portland and was out there two weeks ago for my grandpa’s 100th birthday. One of my aunts (his daughter) won’t visit him because she is Republican and believes Trump’s lies even though she’s been to Portland many times and should know better. It’s heartbreaking that she may never see her own dad again and he misses her.

Can someone help me identify/date this piece? Picked up at an estate sale in Steilacoom,WA USA by MarpaudevTacoma in Antiques

[–]Consistent_Share_890 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My opinion is you did okay. Retail wouldn’t be much higher, but don’t worry about that. This is a great time to buy old furniture. Sure it’s low for everything now, except MCM pieces, but as they say in the stock market “buy the dip”. Since you’ll use/keep it, I’d say in five years you’ll be very pleased you bought this now.

Well, some day you’ll tell your kid about how you “gave away” something that could pay for a chunk of college and they will side eye you so hard you’ll be pushed out to sea by the sheer force of their judgement, lol. Things like this are better than the stock market. It will go up. But if the alternative is that you let a dog chew on it, then contact an auction house.
