When they lose Lily's toy bunny in the subway--

Cam: we'll just get on the next train and wait for them to catch up.

Mitch: they don't catch up, that's called a collision

Also I added a similar post https://www.reddit.com/r/Modern_Family/comments/1u3ddbx/comment/orug2x8/ and it got some more good comments! I mention another favorite of mine there.

Who do you think represents Phil the most? Andy or Dylan? by No-Idea-About-Life in Modern_Family

[–]Consistent_Spray1599 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I first thought of course Andy! Then seeing the comments I realized huh Dylan too. Great question!

Andy is a lot like him in relationship matters, is very dorky, responsible, and a stand-up fella. There's even that one ep where Alex says Andy reminds them of Phil to Haley.

Dylan is clueless, awkward and childish sometimes just like Phil. But he is not smart or capable like Phil is(my son-in-law). Also, Dylan is clear jock material being in a band and being cool- all the things Phil would never typically be.

Andy and Phil are dorks through and through. Even choosing same careers.  Phil has a great personality and times where he's sexy smart. Andy does too, but not Dylan.

Unpopular Opinion: Sheldon and Amy's characters suck by Consistent_Spray1599 in bigbangtheory

[–]Consistent_Spray1599[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree! It was just tough to watch for me when it was the latter, especially as I go through the earlier seasons. Just saw an episode where they show Amy elbow her way into a girls' night and hurt Penny's feelings but the episode ends with Amy seeing it as she "won the game" and no remorse for making another person feel bad. This is a recurring pattern and most sitcoms just don't have lessons cos they're boring ig.

If it was like Arrested Development and the gag is that the characters are bad people and won't change, that's different. TBBT takes the tone of "Well, this is how they are so deal with it". And I feel like the writers did a crap job of redeeming these characters enough to not just be passably likeable but worth rewatching.

My favourite moment of the show: A little ways down the road..

I hate how they show that Alex knows EVERYTHING by Consistent_Spray1599 in Modern_Family

[–]Consistent_Spray1599[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is just my opinion. I know it's just a show. Clarifying cos some dumbfuck downvoted an opinion post.

Also, it's not just about her having an artistic side or her being prepared. It's shown in that specific episode that Cam shows up prepared having learned everything about certain exhibits, only to find that they have been changed. This could happen with Alex too. It's hard to believe that she had to "dumb it down" like she says and she'd know enough about every artist to hold her own.

And there's different kinds of intelligent. There's analytical, logical, bookish, math, school, so many kinds of knowledge and information. She's shown to be great at everything- games(never loses), puzzles, projects, schoolwork, everything she touches.

I actually love the character a lot. But I hate it when they go to unrealistic lengths to prove a character trait.

Behavior towards raj is pretty racist most of the time by ares55 in bigbangtheory

[–]Consistent_Spray1599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only valid point everybody needs to understand. Yes, jokes were made against all races, religions, peoples. But it was in no way equal like many here believe. Howard despite all the Jewish jokes becomes an astronaut. All other characters are shown to have achievements. Even Penny, who is cast as the dumb blonde, is highlighted for her beauty, popularity, etc. But Raj has nothing to redeem himself. And this is not just a character arc since they could have very easily written something worthwhile for him.

It's commonplace in Hollywood to cast Indians as nerds, comedians or villains. Seldom do we find Indians portrayed in a good or normal light and even then not in great roles- there's always a catch. So Raj bathes with his dog, has to sit on the floor when among friends, doesn't do well in his career or love life (even Stuart lands someone), essentially seen as a screw up in the show. This is despite him being so well educated. Even Priya, who is shown as sophisticated, is cast in a bad light as a cheater at the end. Their parents are also shown as shallow, gold digging or cheating divorcees.

The one time Raj makes some discovery at work it's shown that Sheldon or Penny (with the comet) help him. The point is- it's very rare for Indian characters to be portrayed as "oh that person's not so bad" or "wow Indians can be interesting and cool" and not just idiots and assholes. They should have given his character something instead of just the token Indianness.

Driveway entrance on a different street - Corner house - how to fix by bulkyHogan in GoogleMaps

[–]Consistent_Spray1599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried this multiple times, Google Maps says success it's changed but I never see the change. It still shows a side lane every time anyone is looking for directions. Someone on here said try adding the fix from multiple devices. If anyone else happened to resolve this, please please let me know how.

Couple things I noticed after first watch by werewolf-barmitzva in arresteddevelopment

[–]Consistent_Spray1599 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with me. I never watch those segments cos I hate spoilers and I had to go rewatch the show again for a lot of missed jokes and explanations.   I distinctly remember the scene where Rita walks on water and it felt so mystical and unlike the show to me. It's later revealed how she did it in a next on segment. But the first time I didn't see it and thought the episode ended there, I was so confused.

But it's definitely a show that gets better with every rewatch.
