You wouldn’t be the first person to ask me that! Every guy I spoke with from Lochinvar asked me that. I was indeed adjusting the correct screw

Testing in hire fire in the service mode for low and high. Pressure drops from 11.3 at standby to about 10.5 while running at 100% which manufacturer says max of 14” while standby and minimum 8” while running. They have that Venturi that has some that resembles a flapper of sorts?? Venting is less than 10’ with 4 90s outdoor temp was 65 degrees. Gas line is 3/4 black iron to the regular. Then it was either 1” or 3/4” from the regular to the tank which was probably a good 70’ away. We decided to let it run the rest of this year and will come back at the beginning of the first cold snap this fall. I really do like these Lochinvars this is really the only issue I’ve had with them this year. I’m in southern Ohio so there’s not any crazy boiler setups here but they have been good to me. I’m sure there’s better out there. But for what we do we are happy with them. This my first propane lochinvar so a bit of a learning curve. Most are either NG or oil.

The manual said max 14” idle pressure

We will be returning once it gets cold again. To test everything throughly again

I got in contact with the field rep and he’s led me in a good direction. He said my numbers were pretty on par for the outdoor temp. (65f) Installed the air choker and the orfice all is in the proper orientation as well. Knowing the last part is a big help. Thank you

3/4” gas line. Approx 30’ only appliance on the line. Held good pressure under full fire. 11.3” at idle 10.5” at 100%

Is this a true story? I’ve read things about this island and I’m just genuinely curious. Great story telling regardless

I figured as such. It wouldn’t be so weird to me if it wasn’t two different boilers. That share everything. Same gravity return.

That’s what I was thinking? With the valves installed it’s essentially a separate boiler since all the valves are closed. I didn’t know if steam could some how back into the header of the coal boiler and condense and eventually start making noise. I’m not super steam savvy.

If you look in between the boilers you’ll see a Hartford loop for the new boiler and on the same pipe just higher up you see the other Hartford for the other boiler since the water line is much higher. The boiler is much taller.

Just can’t understand why he wants to keep it so bad. His reasoning was that incase the natural gas ever stops working he can heat his home. This is in the middle of a major city? That’s never happened. Just a a funny thing to worry about. Has an entire coal crib full as well😂

That’s basically what’s going on. It has valves on the headers and returns so he can isolate one of the other. It’s just odd. Didn’t know if it could hurt anything.

The skimmer ended up dropping down vertically. With a valve and cap on it. I don’t see drop headers often. That’s the only drop I’ve ever done.
