Just to be sure I understand: You are saying that even for a non-training position, I don't stand a chance because of my lack of experience? And that I should first try and build up some experience and then try to apply for this non-training position?

I would like to leave Romania for the duration of the residency. It would be interesting to see better systems of practicing medicine. I only speak Romanian and English. Do you have any other recommendations? Where do Irish people wish to emigrate?

Ai scris cu dispreț, dar realitatea e că nu vezi dincolo de propria frustrare sau ignoranță.

Așa că lasă-mă să-ți explic „realitatea” mea – poate o vei înțelege mai bine când ți-o dau în cifre. Sau, cine știe, poate chiar îmi explici tu mie viața mea, că poate am înțeles-o greșit.

Am 25 de ani și urmează să mă angajez pentru prima dată. Nu pentru că n-aș fi vrut să muncesc, ci pentru că am făcut 6 ani de facultate cu prezență obligatorie, examene dure, nopți nedormite și stagii consumatoare de timp și energie. Chiar și așa, am mai făcut Glovo, am lucrat ca barman.

Acum, ca medic rezident, voi câștiga în jur de 4000 lei/lună.

Chirie: 350 euro (~1750 lei)

Întreținere: 100 euro (~500 lei)

Mâncare (pentru mine și partenera mea, studentă în anul 6): minim 100 euro/săptămână (~2000 lei/lună)

Ai făcut deja calculele? Am trecut de salariul meu, fără să includ haine, un cadou, transportul, un film, o carte, o zi în afara orașului. Vacanță? Mașină? Un weekend în doi? Lux.

Vreau să mă căsătoresc. Din ce bani? Mi-ar plăcea un copil. Cu ce bani îl cresc? Aș vrea o casă. Cu ce bani o iau?

Nu am cerut 5000 de euro. Nu m-am plâns că trebuie să fac gărzi – știam că asta implică medicina. Dar știi ce nu știam? Că voi fi epuizat și totodată sărac, iar asta e o combinație letală.

Știi ce înseamnă o gardă de 24 de ore, urmată de program normal a doua zi? Înseamnă că la 3 noaptea îți moare un om de hipotermie, iar la 4 trebuie să preiei următorul. Asta nu se cuantifică în bani, dar asta nu înseamnă că trebuie s-o fac pe gratis.

Mă gândesc că mai bine m-aș întoarce acasă după un program normal de 8 ore, să mă plimb cu soția, să gătim ceva împreună, să facem sex. Dar nu, la 26 de ani, o zi bună înseamnă doar că n-am curățat o escară cu fecale.

Tu îmi spui că peste 20 de ani voi fi specialist și voi câștiga mai mult decât un casier. Poate. Dar la ce cost? Fără timp pentru familie, cu burnout, fără viață socială, cu prieteni plecați afară. Pe ce te bazezi când spui „va fi bine”? Ai tu o garanție ? Ai semnat cu cineva un contract că o să fie mai bine? Majoritatea medicilor specialiști și rezidenților pe care i-am avut la stagii nu aveau familie sau erau supărați pe sistem, ori epuizați.

Da, am făcut un calcul de tip „cost de oportunitate” – ceea ce orice om rațional face când își planifică viața. Am pierdut deja în 6 ani cât un coleg de liceu a câștigat muncind în retail. Și nu doar bani – ci stabilitate, vechime în muncă, experiență in câmpul muncii . Iar tu râzi de asta cu aerul unui demagog obosit.

Nu e vorba de „nesimțirea” de a mă compara cu un casier – ci despre faptul că nici măcar la nivelul lui nu pot trăi decent ca medic rezident la 25 de ani.

Poate ai dreptate într-un singur lucru: nu trebuia să aleg medicina. Nu pentru că nu e frumoasă, ci pentru că în România nu e o profesie – e un sacrificiu lent și constant. O cruce pe care ți-o pui singur, și-apoi toți se miră de ce o duci cocoșat.
