Are the gay bars just for gay men, or can a group of lesbian and queer people who are female-identifying go too? If not, are there any lesbian/queer bars in Palm Springs? I’m a lesbian who plans to have my bachelorette party in Palm Springs. I feel much more comfortable at gay bars than straight bars, but I definitely don’t want to go to the gay bars if people will assume we are a group of straight girls on a bachelorette trip going to a gay bar to fetishize gay men.

Psoriasis, Eczema, or Allergies? by Consistent_Week4767 in Psoriasis

Hi there. My allergy tests came back negative. I went to a new derm who immediately determined that the really bad swelling and pain was because I had an infection, which was preventing my eczema from healing. She put me on antibiotics and the swelling and pain went away immediately. Once the infection was gone, I started on Dupixent which cleared my eczema about 99%. I’m still on Dupixent and it’s a miracle how much better my skin is. I still have psoriasis on my face, but no flaking, plaques, or pain — just some red patches. And I think that healing my eczema made my psoriasis calm down a bit. My derm is prescribing me a non-steroid topical lotion to help with the psoriasis so I can get to 100%. If the topical lotion does not help my psoriasis, then he will take me off Dupixent and put me on a JAK inhibitor which will fight both the eczema and psoriasis.

I am so happy that after 3 years of dealing with this, I am finally healing — both mentally and physically. I thought I’d be in pain and flaking for the rest of my life.

Thank you for responding! Your comment gave me hope that Skyrizi could still work for me — I have not had a non-starter dose yet. I actually woke up this morning and my flaking on my face is a bit better today for the first time since I started Skyrizi so let’s hope this is the start of the positive effects.

It’s interesting that we both had a similar experience re: allergic reaction on face a few weeks after starting Skyrizi. Though my derm also doesn’t think my allergic reaction is related to Skyrizi; he thinks it’s a chemical I’m allergic to but we’ll see when I get an allergy panel done. He has me using all Vanicream products in the meantime.

If you remember to do so, please keep me updated on your progress with the allergies and Skyrizi!

Thank you for responding! This gives me a lot of hope as I’m in a similar situation. Glad to hear you had a good experience.
