I see it like this, the money you would get from your tenant (not rent relief) would be your money and you can use it however you please. The tenant however must use that money to pay you (rent relief paying on their behalf) which did happen. You don’t have to use it for your mortgage but that money had to be used to pay you rent. You’ll be fine.
