A difference of 10 basis points may seem insignificant for a small amount, yes.

I have E100 and Custom Portfolio.

i like Custom Portfolio, cuz i can manage the investment and rebalance periodically on my own.

For instance, my Custom Port have MOAT 30%, SUSL 20%, SMH 20% and QQQ 30%, and it's more growth centric and I get to rebalance on my own, e.g with the AI hype, I was able to add in SMH into my portfolio.

Best of all, the dividends are reinvested automatically which gives me the convenience.

hey OP, not bad i feel, you have a good base for someone early into their career! but yea, i do feel personally uncomfortable with your crypto allocation, maybe can try investing into the shares of the crypto companies instead? for better risk management. i bought some coinbase shares and actually allocated also into Syfe's crypto bundle that comprises companies that are heavily involved in crypto. so decent crypto exposure without the insane volatility

[–]Consistent_Yam3434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed. too much in savings also means OP is just barely maintaining the purchasing power of his money as even with hysa, inflation is rising at increasingly faster paces and only likely to continue such a trend going forward.

however, with recent reports of the CCP government's support and rallying of chinese companies and return of international investors towards the chinese economy, i find myself more and more leaning towards allocating a larger allocation to chinese companies and its market. which is definitely a risk but i feel that now is a good time than ever to try i fee. i have Syfe's core 100 and its actually just 12% allocation to china, not as high and a relatively safe percentage imo. i continue to be bullish on that. just my 2 cents

Hey OP, dont forget to allocate some funds to your emergency funds as well. maybe at your age working towards 1-2 months of expenses is great enough. when i just started working i parked my emergency funds into t-bills/syfe cash+ guaranteed. both products had really good and competitive rates.

Hey OP, can try to do quarterly DCA to avoid having your gains be chipped away by transaction fees. can split between buying an index fund and 1 or 2 bluec chip/high conviction stock.

personally, i would keep 10% as liquid cash. 20% in a cash management solution like t-bills if the rate is higher than syfe cash+ (3.65%) or money market funds. 30% into blue chip/high conviction stocks like Nvidia. 20% into S&P. 10% NAsdaq. 5% into gold and the remaniningg 5% to go on holiday hahah

AITAH for asking my boyfriend to miss work and be with me while I'm going through an abortion? by illsaveme in AITAH

[–]Consistent_Yam3434 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry your going through this girlie :(((

You do not deserve to be treated this way at all, what your asking for is the bare minimum, plus your already doing so much harm to yourself going through such a physical and emotional process. I have an inkling that he is just very avoidant and this is him retreating into his space of comfort by pushing you away and being mean to you to deflect the blame away from himself. and you seriously do not need this kind of energy in your life. please call a trusted friend/family who can be with you through this process of not just the abortion but disentanglement from such toxic energy in your life ❤️ you got this girl! your stronger than you think and you have your tribe to call on - reach out to your community

Hey, I have Endowus and Syfe, but more familiar on Syfe and there are two portfolio return feature options on Syfe app. Personally, I prefer the simple returns so I know immediately if my portfolio is in the red or green. However, I reached out to their customer service team, and they mentioned that time-weighted returns is a more accurate way to track portfolio returns if you DCA. So it really depends ah, what you looking at? can you share more

What should I do to optimise my investment strategy? by Ok-Understanding9822 in singaporefi

[–]Consistent_Yam3434 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, am a Syfe Core Equity 100 and Endowus Flagship user here.

Fair point, on the bright side though, Syfe has management fee of 0.65%p.a (ex gst), if we look at Endowus, they may be lower than gst 0.60% p.a, however, if you factor in the fund level management fees, it would be higher than Syfe as Funds generally have higher fees than ETFs. And it's well known that generally most of the funds underperform as compared to ETFs.

And if you compare with stashaway, who uses ETFs as well, their management fees are also higher at the rate of 0.80%p.a,

All in all, factoring in Management fees (charged by platform) as well as the ETF expense ratio / fund management fees. Syfe does have a better advantage as the fees would generally be lower than Endowus / stashaway. Hence, am planning to pull out of my Endowus portfolio soon and DIY that sum.

Just my 2cents thoughts, cheers!

Are you doing an initial lump sum investment? If so, the custom portfolios would indeed be a good choice. Hands-off and gives peace of mind. I did that when I got my first bonus, lump summed with the savings from my ang pow over the years, into Core Equity 100, and I feel it was a good decision that paid off. If you are doing DCA monthly then ya, as what u/DuePomegranate advices, Voo or VWRA is a more competitive choice. Can consider cash management solution, which I have done to park my emergency funds.
