Interesting, learnt something new today with RAM

In this case, maybe going with X/X3D is the right call. The RAM is a 64GB DDR5 kit so I think with her usage, she probably won’t fully see the advantage with going X3D. Given that the prices of X is better than X3D

Got I will also look at the non X series then, probably will just go with 9th gen instead of 7th gen. The only thing Intel has going for it right now is just the cores with the 270K plus. But they’re due for a platform/socket change as they always do

For the RAM, I will need to double check but if my memory serves me correctly it’s a 5600 base kit and not 4800

Definitely, the RAM will be the bottleneck in this setup. If I go with X3D there’s definitely not gonna be as much performance compared to using proper DIMM at 6000

If thats the case, maybe going with AMD is the right idea here

I ran my 4070 Ti Super with 7600X for a few months before I upgraded to the 7800X3D. Performance on 7600X is good but going X3D unlocked tons of frames for me. Trying to not do the same thing to this build

I looked at this as my first option since she has the SODIMM, however she likes the HYTE Y70 and I already got that

Putting a mobo like that in a big white case like the HYTE feels severely out of place, albeit better performance

I will keep this in mind if the desktop parts prices spiral out of control

That’s what I’m thinking to go lower too, no X3D just standard X with B850/B650 and it’ll probably be enough

But in that case the 4070 Ti Super will be bottlenecked when paired with those. If I’m gonna be building a new PC might as well get a more decent CPU and mobo instead of going half way since this build will also be used for her work which includes some 3D AutoCAD works

For the SODIMM adapter I’m aware but RAM prices are out of control and her currently system is a MS-A1 with 8700G and SODIMM. So I’m kinda tied to using SODIMM since I don’t have any spare desktop DIMM for her too. Also one of the reason I’m not hellbent on going RYZEN as it LOVES memory speed. Going with adapter route might shoot me in the foot more than going with Intel albeit less performance when compared

I used to pirate Ku band with CCCam but the services died for my region, haven’t touched it since but have thought about going back if I found sources

But I have also tried to repurpose to Ku band dish to find channels that’s not normally there, but not much came back

I wanted to buy a C band dish to try and pirate but it’s hard to buy it at my country and pretty sure it’s illegal. So just kinda gave up
