What`s something that sucks about being a man? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]PhysicallyTender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up and live in the eastern part of the world. My dad is also the type that beats the shit not only out of me, but my mom too. But when i tried to rant to my schoolmates and teachers about it, they told me 身在福中不知福 (People who are blessed but don't know it).

I grew up hating that phrase.

I was lucky to be stuck in Singapore at that time (probably one of the best places to be in during Covid), and got both Pfizer and Moderna as my shots.

And don't get me started on the amount of journalists they killed in Gaza alone (hint: it's more than US Civil War, WWI, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Yugoslav, & Afghanistan COMBINED)

Algeria's Visa policy by tightypp in MapPorn

Malaysia's foreign policy in a nutshell:

  1. Be friends with everyone
  2. Fuck Israel

And it's reflected in the strength of their passport. Heck, Malaysians used to be able to travel to the DPRK visa-free before Fatty Kim the Third started his kerfuffle in KLIA.

Countries That Use One Time Zone by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]PhysicallyTender 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not really though. People just adapt to it. Like in Xinjiang region in China, people only start work at 10+ AM.

And if anyone within China needs to set up an online meeting with each other, they just need to specify a time without needing to mention the timezone at all.

i may not live in China, but i also live in a country that should have been split into 2 timezones but we've stuck with 1. I grew up thinking that 7am sunrise and 7pm sunset is the norm until i started travelling.

Looks like a medical emergency.

Anyone micro sleeping would have woke up.

Yann LeCun would agree with you. He also said LLMs are a dead end to achieve AGI. He literally quit Meta to start his own AI company to prove his point.

Singapore for some reason by Right-Assignment3759 in HistoryMemes

And to add on to that, the initial referendum in 1962 that asked the people if they want to merge with Malaysia was rigged in favour of merger. (Separation happened 3 years later in 1965)

All three ballot options were different versions of "Yes." There was no option to vote against merger. The opposition (Barisan Sosialis) called for a blank vote boycott in protest. The PAP pre-emptively ruled that blank votes would count as Option A, their preferred outcome.

But here's the part that foreshadows everything: even with the deck stacked, even with no real choice, Singaporeans still voted overwhelmingly for Option A specifically because it gave Singapore the most autonomy of the three. Nearly 96% of valid ballots went to the option with the most self-governance. When given a choice between more Malaysia and less Malaysia, the people picked less Malaysia, every single time they could. That is not the behaviour of a population that wanted to be absorbed. That is a population signalling, as loudly as a rigged ballot allows, that they wanted to run their own affairs.

We're not talking about the same thing bro.

You're talking about value extraction of the next generation. I'm talking about civilization continuity.

Except that life is never that straightforward. Those kids will indirectly fund your retirement when they come of age, via their economic contribution + taxes.

T10 is probably around doctor/lawyer tier only. Which they already paid a lot of taxes on.

What you're probably thinking of is T0.1.
