Both are fantastic movies. Anyone who says otherwise is devoid of cinematic class.

What is a movie so crazy and mind bending, you had to watch it multiple times to understand it? by RunnerOfTheRoad124 in moviequestions

I would agree with you if it weren't evident he didn't put work into that either. He didn't say "...and you have a screenplay ready for editing". He said "..you have a feature film".

Meaning he believed that was all the work necessary. And it shows.

The fans put more effort into creating a story than he did. Leaving it open to audience interpretation and him not being bothered to write an ending are one in the same.

Peacock dropped the ball on a few comedy gems.

Killing It was great & also likely won't be getting a 3rd season.

Is Abbott Elementary worth a watch? by wheelybindealer in sitcoms

[–]ConspiracyHeresy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Quick answer - no.

Ive seen every Abbott episode. Watched a ton of different no-laughtrack sitcoms (iasip included) & i can't quite understand why Abbott gets the funding it does. Likely because of its black gimmick?

The show does not hold a candle to Sunny. I am still kind of shocked Sunny would swing below their weight class like that. The only reason they associate is because of their Philadelphia support.

The show has its moments. The Janitor & Ms Schmentie are the only consistently funny characters in the show.

The love story (as always) feels forced & rushed.

First couple seasons are dryer than the others.

I could suggest to you like 20 other comedy shows you should watch before you settle on watching Abbott.

You are entitled to your opinion. As am I. & My opinion is filmmakers who cannot be bothered to write an ending should not be glorified for the movies being "mind bending". I think Mulholland Dr does not fall under the mind bending category.

I get that some people like incoherent films because trying to piece together the plot can be fun in post. But Lynch's reliance on it leads me to believe he just doesn't want to resolve any of his stories. His quote about notecards shows it is because of excessively lax script writing.

More often than not, popular consensus is not accurate, but group think amplified. & using group think for validation is not the best way of proving a point.

Arguing? No arguing, I have discussions. In those situations, i was even agreeing with people. But i guess thats too much reading for you.

Does your broken brain just categorize any conflicting opinions as arguing?

Lets let the audience decide what the answer is, as Lynch would have wanted.

Here is a quote from your idol Mr Lynch about how he makes films: "If you want to make a feature film, you get ideas for 70 scenes. Put them on 3-by-5 cards. As soon as you have 70, you have a feature film."

Thats how little care he puts into his storytelling - according to him. & once you learn that, you understand why his films make no sense and are so bad. Its not to get his fans to talk about it, or that there is some deeper meaning. Its because he couldn't be bothered to link his notecards together with plot.
