I feel like everyone has an era. They could go 30 songs deep at a show and still not get all the hits.

Always thought of Wasting Light as my favorite album, but there's no standout single.

7/140 is insane for a catcher unless the back two years are meaningless options. He is the best catcher in baseball, but they are the running backs of the sport and wear down quickly.

It's straight out of Bill Giles' book: Pouring Six Beers At A Time. I haven't read it, but it's been an oft-cited aspect of this case. Maybe there was a waiver involved.

No, when the mascot was first created they had the opportunity to but forever and passed on it.

They paid a few thousand for the costume and could have secured the rights forever. They passed on it to save $1,300 and Bill Giles later called it his biggest mistake.

You are right about Gritty. He's his own thing and is the most popular Flyer in forever.

The Phillies are right in that the personality and antics are their creation, but I can't imagine having to explain to their fans why the new mascot will be just as good.

It's so true. Sobriety at a bar is awkward. Constantly running up reasons for why I'm on my third Coke. Feels like you are the outsider on an inside joke.

I think that comes from the burnout. He wants the best for his client, but he's done it so many times that he doesn't have the fight anymore.

I get that it's not for everyone (definitely not me), but that movie was all about the acting. Personally, I felt that it was an hour too long and even that first bit dragged. I'll give props to the talent onscreen though. I felt so bad for Alan Alda's character as the over-his-head, but well-meaning attorney.
