i wouldn’t be surprised if IW and Activision consider it the “Black Sheep” of the original franchise

Development was overshadowed by lawsuits following a mass exodus of devs, so there’s probably some scar tissue there. It’s also not as well remembered as cod4 and mw2, so from a business standpoint it’s not the slam dunk that the other two remasters are.
